  8. If you enjoyed Rama then I recommend Eon by Greg Bear. This book is the reason I've never been able to finish Rama, it just takes things so much farther... That looks really good. I've only recently started reading good science fiction, read some garbage when I was younger which put me off - this looks like a good recommendation, thanks!

  11. Playing TONIGHT, Tuesday 30th October in Glasgow; Thursday 1st November in Edinburgh + touring Scotland throughout November, see www.thebzband.com for details. This very talented band from the Tatra Mountain area of Northern Slovakia near the Polish border, play and sing very lively and beautiful music. Their extensive repertoire includes music from all over Europe. After two very successful appearances at the Shetland Folk Festival and once at the Orkney Folk Festival, they are now going on tour around Scotland in November 2007. "The Brothers Zamiskovci were undoubtedly the surprise hit of the 2004 Shetland Folk Festival, with a tireless enthusiasm for musical sessions that lasted well past the early hours. They delighted audiences throughout our Isles so much that we invited them back for our 2006 festival and hopefully it won't be long before we see them again." Christine Fordyce: Chairman, Shetland Folk Festival Society. www.shetlandfolkfestival.com
