  1. Just got my new Nikon S600 compact camera I ordered it online Sunday from Uk Digital Cameras. I opted for £6.99 1-2 day delivery and arrived by Royal Mail by 12.30 today I am well impressed they also give 2 years warrantee instead of just the normal 12 month manufacturers w'tee. I would have purchased locally however Camera Shop is still only stocking S210 which is far behind this models capabilities, and no one said whether they could get it in for me.
  2. 3. I know someone who has gone to Mongolia to see it... He'll be back mid August with amazing pictures I would think.
  4. Drove past last week absolutely appauling state.
  5. A friend went to Co Op on Sunday lunch time only 4 checkouts open. Queues backed up to the freezer section taking 35mins, the reason....staff phoned in to say they were hungover from Foy, and that's the reason for the staff shortage....
  6. Austin Taylor Photography exhibition now on in Islesburgh 1-28 June 2008.
  7. A woman came home and found this letter from her husband: My Dearest Wife, You will surely understand that I have certain needs that you with your 54-year-old body can no longer supply. However, I am very happy with you and I value you as a good wife. Therefore, after reading this letter, I hope that you will not wrongly interpret the fact I will be spending the evening with my 18-year-old secretary at the Comfort Inn Hotel. Please don't be perturbed, I shall be back home before midnight. When the man came home, he found the following letter on the dining room table: My Dearest Husband, I received your letter and thank you for your honesty. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54 years old. At the same time, I would like to inform you that while you are reading this, I will be at the Ritz Carleton with Michael, my tennis coach, who, like your secretary, also is 18. As a successful businessman and with your excellent knowledge of math, you will understand that we are in the same situation, although with one small difference: 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18. Therefore, I will not be back until lunchtime tomorrow.
  8. The lighthouse ad from M&S is doing my head in.....
  9. Thanks Shetlandcars & Talpa for the advice, I will have fun exploring my many options.
  10. Off to Southern Spain in September to stay with a mate who's moving there, so will be a good spree & catch up. Hiring a car as it's so cheap for 2 weeks £160. Planning to pop to Morocco by ferry for a wee gander too.
  11. Yes it was good...but hey anything with Jonny Depp in I'll watch Phawww!
  12. Atleast they didn't suffer to long.
  13. I know someone who's been doing a bit of digging about this and has had some interesting replies from VOSA over the past few days. After the fourth time of asking the names and locations in Shetland that carry out MOTs, VOSA has now provided another reply. There is a disclaimer at the bottom that says it's confidential and for the recipient only but I can tell you that they sent a list of all the MOT test centres in Shetland. Note that, if you want VOSA to provide you with this information you need to specifically ask them for a list of MOT test centres in your postcode area. My friend asked VOSA to provide such a list for all three of Shetland's postcode areas - there are none in ZE3 so you can forget that, but there are no less than 7 in ZE1 and 4 in ZE2. However, much as some of that information amazed my friend, it's staggering to be told that the majority of MOT test centres (presumably nationwide) declined the offer of (presumably free) advertising on a major government agency's website. Apparently they had a poll - which they had to do because they're private businesses. Draw your own conclusions.
  14. Thanks I'll call them back then. I was offered the N95 8GB for around £210 or over 24 months for £150. They never said if I cancelled my contract it would be cheaper, so thanks I'll call them back then & see. Did you get to keep your old number?
  15. What is everyone's thoughts, I am with Vodafone & want the N95 8G phone. Wondering whether to change network to get better deal as Vodfone is the dearest. I live in Lerwick but would like service to be as good as Vodafone is this asking too much?
  16. Demanded god this would be excellent if we pull it off.
  17. They must have pulled their socks up: they used to have a terrible reputation for customer service. Maybe because it was the owner who served me, but I was very pleased indeed.
  18. I bought a bike from Grantfield on Saturday & I must say I was very impressed with the service I received. I purchased the Breakthrough (Breastcancer) Raleigh 21 speed bike, and they donate all money to BC research not just the 10% as advertised. I kinda felt bad they will not gain anything from the sale, so I felt I should recommend them as a great place to start if you are in the market for a new bike.
  19. The new look neighbours is also what happened to Home & Away last year. New screen format almost gives it a movie like feel, you'll get used to it but it takes a while.
  20. Absolutely canna wait for this tonight he's fab.
  21. I was lead to believe it was tourist's who complained the ferry arrived to early, as nothing is open in Lerwick until 9am. (keeping in mind they can stay on board until 10.00am) I sure would love the ferry to arrive earlier than 07.30am, especially when you have to go to work same day.
