Is the economics maybe affected by the fact that wild cod stocks have not become extinct after all, and indeed are improving? you wid need tae be black fantin tae preeve yon föshenless hellery. 10. Christians 0. Islamic Terrorists 1. (o.g. Archbishop of Canterbury in 1st half.) (The Archbishop of Canterbury has been criticised for claiming the adoption of elements of Islamic sharia law in the UK "seems unavoidable".)

    Photo ID

Perhaps Northlink intends to make its fares non-refundable, non-transferable and non changeable (unless a premium is paid) just like the airlines. Maybe this is the real reason for introducing photo ID. After that it'll be one pice of cabin baggage then a charge for hold bagage etc etc

    Photo ID

Many elderly people do not have photographic ID nor have any means of obtaining any, other than an expensive UK passport. I would hate to inform elderly folks that went through the last war that they now need a passport to travel in their own country. Why does it have to be photographic ID?. Photographic ID is not needed to fly from Sumburgh so why should we have to obtain photographic ID to travel on our life-line ferry link. After all no photographic ID is required to travel on the public roads, busses or trains.
  19. A bonnie sight on da TV news da night - da Ice Prince on her beam ends an loaded wi wid. Peety shu's ower far awa an da wind in da wrang ert.
  20. Loganair did say on Radio Orkney this morning that they will still allow BA through bookings to Heathrow even after the changeover to Flybe. I've been using Flybe regularly (i.e. monthly, mostly from Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast but also on occasion from Gatwick and Inverness) for the last 3 years with very little problems. Gatwick is much more user friendly than Heathrow. BA hardly uses any regional airports these days so a Loganair tie-up with Flybe is good news for Shetland
  21. [Either candidate would be a vast improvement over the incumbent Bush. Let's just hope the American public do the right thing] Let's hope they do this time (they didn't twice on the trot with Bush) - however when it comes to it they will not elect someone with a name sounds a bit like Borat Osama.
