  1. No need for insults Urabug. You posted a link to a story about police brutality in India. Police brutality is unfortunately all too common around the world. In this instance there doesn't appear to be any racial motivations or connotations. You posted the link is a discussion about BLM and mentioned 'white police'. I'm wondering why you see it as linked or relevant?
  2. It appears to be a case of dreadful police brutality but how do you think this is relevant to white police or BLM?
  3. For anyone interested, here's an online petition Save our hotels close SELLANESS
  4. Do you expect us to know what a "Baizuo mindset" is? The article you linked to makes no mention of it It seems that you assume users on this forum are familiar with alt-right theories and phrases
  5. ^ no, I don't. What do you mean? Is it that you don't support "dignity, tolerance and respect", or that you don't like LGBT people, or you don't like the colours? You're obviously free to hold whatever views you want, but it would be handy to explain your reasoning if you're going to protest about something on a forum
  6. I think there is a difference between supporting the principles, and picketing/protesting. During the surge in BLM activity over the past few weeks my 'contribution' has been to engage in materials and discuss issues. I have no grandiose idea that my thoughts or actions will have a direct or consequential difference to the lives of black people. However, many of my long held attitudes have changed, as have those of many people I know. But in the big scheme of things, this is of little significance. One of the challenges of those who are actively protesting is to articulate their demands. Even more vehement BLM supporters I know are challenged by what the goals are beyond raising awareness, avoiding the use of offensive language and actions, and highlighting a perception of institutionalised racism in organisations such as the police (which is an issue that predates BLM and has been the subject of many inquiries and inquests). Most other issues are already covered by laws. However, I believe these broad goals are in themselves worthwhile. Edit: for clarity, I believe that trying to avoid offending people comes down to basic manners and respect. We're on a slippery slope when attempts are made to legislate against offending people
  7. I support the principles of BLM, so presumably I'm part of 'they'. You may think I engage in Craptavism (whatever that is), but what do you mean by "protesting potential government overreach due to the lockdown poses the risk of a reformist movement actually forming as a result."? Are you interested in discussion, or is it just a case of throwing some theories and vague sentences around and expecting folk to try to decipher what you mean?
  8. I've just wasted my time watching a video of a pupil having an argument with a teacher. What's your point NullVoid?
  9. Before your knees get too jerky, it might be worth reading up on how LGBT issues are incorporated into the curriculum
  10. More to the point, who is referring to this supposed "police state" in this BLM thread? Wow. You managed to link people pooping on a beach to BLM. Good work.
  11. What do you mean by "this type of flags"? What point are you trying to make by referring to the rainbow flag as a "multicolored rag"?
  12. Its a bit of a nebulous group but for the sake of giving it a consistent definition For clarity lets define the "LGBT agenda" as: Goals of the movement besides those that pertain strictly to legality and acceptance of groups mentioned in said acronym. and LGBT Rights as mere acceptance of those groups right to peaceably do onto each other whatever they mutually consent to. For the purposes of making a distinction Here's are some possible scenarios 1: The SIC comprises decent, empathetic people who are "marking [their] commitment to dignity, tolerance and respect" for LGBTQ+ people by flying the flag. The decision was taken by elected representatives on behalf of residents of Shetland. If members of the public disagree that these are values the SIC should be promoting then they have many democratic avenues open to them to make their views known. 2: The SIC have a covert agenda to promote "superficial" issues such as "Human Sexual Dimorphism Denial" and "Transsexual prepubescents". This agenda was drafted and is being actioned without the knowledge of the public, and the SIC are flying the flag to covertly signal this covert agenda. 3: The SIC are being manipulated by unknown groups through supporting a "headline" when in fact they are unwitting giving the "seal of approval" to a range of other issues. This is because the SIC and Shetland public haven't read the "fine print" which explains why they are supporting issues that they actually don't support. This fine print is freely available on alt-right websites and YouTube videos.
  13. What political faction?
  14. Yeah, I'm fine with that. I chose to discuss in the 1st person as I am a part of a group you are making generalisations about. As with many symbols, there will be groups who will adopt or subvert it. However, in this case I believe the core values that the flag represents are clear and understandable enough that the flags' use does not imply support for specific groups or sub-causes.
  15. So you think I'm not capable of reading the fine print, and because of that I'm supporting things I don't actually support?
  16. I don't support all of that, so how is it I am giving it all the seal of approval?
  17. OK, what are the superficial things I am giving the seal of approval to?
  18. So 'they', as in people who support LGBT rights, are marxist and/or some form of extremists with a hidden agenda?? I support LGBT rights (insomuch as I believe they should be treated without discrimination), so does that apply to me?
  19. To be quite honest NullVoid, I'm not going to watch a 13 minute YouTube to try to decifer what you mean. Perhaps you could explain your point? I have no idea what your "And then one day..." link is meant to mean either. Perhaps you could take then time to explain the "reason" you seem to expect us to deduce from your link?
  20. Please do elaborate on what 'agenda' you think the flag represents.
  21. If you see it as a 'sides' issues, what would be the other side to supporting LGBTQ+ folk?
  22. You really are grasping at straws here.
  23. What do you think "ultracalvinism" has to do with the subject NullVoid? I'm sure there's a tangential link in there somewhere, but I don't follow your logic
