That's a different question, and a matter of opinion. I'm interested in how many drivers actually have problems navigating the roundabout.
 
I don't have a problem (and I regularly drive a fairly large vehicle) and neither does anyone I've spoken to about it, so I'm surprised * about the stooshie and wanted to find out if there's any basis to it.

It would have been interesting to hear opinions from people who have actually driven a car round the roundabout in question since it was completed this Friday.

To go around the roundabout, heading East, I had to turn the steering wheel a full turn which any competent driver should manage to do.
 
Keeping on heading East to the roundabout at Grantfield and heading in ower for the Esplanade requires dialing in one and a half turns of lock. 
 
Anyone having trouble with the new roundabout, best not take a right turn at Grantfield as this requires an extra 50% more of a turn.
 
They likely weren't wanting to make the new roundabout too big in case they started using it as a helipad!

It should be a definite 'No' for anyone driving a car.
 
But the adverse camber is going to be pretty interesting for any bikers if there's any ice or diesel spill.....

This must be the most civilised witch hunt in history, protesters who (going by the pictures) included babies in pushchairs, children and some frail looking elderly people.
These people don't look very sinister to me.
They will stop at nothing to achieve their aims... Even going as far as getting a lawyer...I even saw a...PETITION...think of the children.

The system is indeed far from ideal but there's not much chance of making a change unless we call out MPs when they have clearly breached basic ethics (whether or not we voted for them). To claim that one example of wrongdoing doesn't matter because there's other examples of wrongdoing is classic 'whataboutery'
 
If you know there's wrongdoing and don't engage with it you are "by default perpetrating and supporting it in some way"

It seems that many of these posts are actually veiled support for politicians being deceitful and come from a 'they're all at it so it doesn't matter' point of view. I voted for Carmichael but certainly would not have done if this had have come out before the election. Whether or not politicians representing other constituencies have a track record of being untruthful, when it comes to the MP representing us being caught out in some style I do think we should insist that the consequences are serious. If the rot is going to be stopped (or at least curtailed) we have the opportunity to do something about it at a local level.

So when everyone else votes, they're voting to prop up a corrupt system. But when you vote, you're trying to destroy it??

they all lie so why bother to try and change it. just keep complaining all the time that all politicians are untrustworthy lying scum. and then support the parties the all-powerful media who control everything are promoting. [slow hand clap]

this is hilarious. seeing all the right wingers/ukip drones who appear to spend every waking minute on here denouncing the political establishment, insisting the "whole system is all corrupt" and "needs shaken up" falling over themselves to defend a lying politician from that same established political class. as soon as it looks like things could actually get shaken up and the MP who's been sitting in the most comfortable safe seat in the country for 14 years, standing for the same party which has won for 50 years before that gets caught out and his position looks tenuous you all suddenly get cold feet. suddenly it doesn't matter that it's all corrupt because the party that nearly ousted him (and almost certainly would have done had this information come to light before the election) isn't to your liking. you can be pretty sure if it was a labour or snp MP caught out in similar circumstances you'd be calling for resignations. for all your generic puff and bluster about corruption you clearly don't have any real desire to hold politicians to account unless it benefits your own political stance. it's really quite sad and shows you up for the small 'c' conservatives you really are (arguably all conservatives are small c's but there you go).
 
you'd rather maintain a status quo you claim to have no time for (and obviously keep whining about it on here indefinitely), it's almost as if you just prefer venting. no wonder shetlink has been reduced to a tired, petty, boring parochial bicker fest.

Wrong, totally wrong, Ghost. Not voting is acceptance by default. Not voting is allowing anyone to use and abuse you and your money. Not voting is refusing to stand up and attempt to get what is best for you and those around you. Not voting is not having the sense to at least attempt to put the best in power. None of them are perfect but some are worse than others and we have the right to the best of a bad bunch. Do nothing and Alistair Carmichael remains in place and does nothing for us except tell, or allow to be told, porkies to keep life easy for him and his ilk. Not voting is saying, "Yes, come along and rip me off!!!" Not voting is shooting yourself in the foot and there's no complaints that you can put forward about it, either.

That seems to be an untenable position GR unless you actually support politicians lying and wasting public funds.
 
As a Liberal Democrat myself I certainly have no "ulterior motive/vindictiveness" in bringing my own MP to task for his dishonest actions.

I don't understand what it has to do with party politics. The M.P. has done wrong and should resign i have no problem with whoever gets elected next -until they get caught lying.

If after watching that you do not believe he deliberately misled the public difficult to know what further evidence you need.

I don't see why this is becoming factional. An M.P. has lied or is incompetent and should lose his job. At least put it to the people. I have nothing against Mr. Carmichael standing again if he thinks he has not done wrong and thinks he has the support. Maybe an independent could stand in a by-election to avoid this becoming divisive party politics.

Not a problem who you vote for. The problem is he launched an inquiry at cost to the taxpayer to discover it was him behind it. Lets have a by election and let the people decide.

Den dirs da curious phenomena of folk writing in da Queen's English bit spaekin in dialect (I'm tryin tae write in dialect here but makin an akward backside o it!). Wan really interesting thing is how a lot o Whalsa folk post messages on Social Media - I luff reading it as they write exactly as dey spik and I hae tae read it oot lood in a Whalsa accent fur it tae mak sense!

I orginally intended to wear my grandfathers medals on the right side of my blazer at Remembrance Day Parades but now find the practice is frowned upon. No matter. I would still like to get replacements to complete a display of three generations of medals. The medal record card I got from National Archives was not my grandfather as first though. Some new info has tunrned up so there's hope yet
