You can hire caravans and campervans which would be infin itely more comfortable than camping - although maybe crowded for the number. Can you not leave the dogs with someone or put them in Kennels? Then you could use the camping bods - Whalsay, Waas, Eshaness, Yell, Fetlar etc. Or Gardiesfauld Hostel in Uyeasound which is excellent.

Are there weekend owners on Papa Stour?? Is this a holiday isle?

Show them the cat's bed, toys, what you are feeding her and demonstrate the affection between you. That's the sort of thing they are looking for. They want to see that the cat is being well cared for and part of the family.

I totally agree.

Had a superb meal at the Hillswick Hotel. The surroundings left a little to be desired but staff and food were great. I think they are working on upgrading the place.

I spoke to them on the phone as they live in Scotland.

Most of the ruined croft houses are on individual holdings and are not required by the owner/tenant. Apply to individuals rather than to the estate.

Paeonies -They grow great in our garden. Don't stake and are in no particular sheltered position.

Paeonies - various colours, big and showy, grow very well here. Garden geraniums - blue, pink, white, hardy, good ground cover.

We had a meal for four at the Lerwick Hotel on the 24th of June. The choice was good, service was quick, efficient and courteous, the food was excellent, beautifully presented and plentiful. All staff were cheerful and pleasant and we had a great night. The price wasn't too excessive either.

Actually six hours a night is sufficient so you have nothing to worry about. If you find yourself waking halfway through, get up and do the housework. Then you can happily nap in the middle of the day and not care!

How about trusting to the captain's judgement? He is the fellow who is taking the rap if he sails in unsuitable weather. If by any chance we are delayed, I have always been able to get a message through and have been fairly dealt with, sailing when the boat sailed. Give Northlink a break.
