  1. I would suggest a two step process: 1) Revoke Article 50. 2) Bathe in Brexiteer tears.
  2. How many times has Nicola Sturgeon suspended parliament in order to wreck the economy?
  3. Climate change was being taught as uncontroversial fact in my O Grade Chemistry class in 1988.
  4. Da EU widda been faain owre demsells ta offer a deal if da moaniments upoa wir side a hed da wit ta play da gem in a wye ta makk it happen. Instead we're wasted tree yeer be sendin numpties dat wirna wantin ta leave da EU onywye, an cudna negotiate dir wye oot o' a burst weet paper bag, dat ir destroyed aa. What sort of deal do you believe would have been possible?
  5. What problem do you believe this would solve?
  6. We have regular General Elections: if enough people are unhappy with what our MPs get up to, they can vote in new ones.
  7. If we live in a country of free speech, surely people should be allowed to criticise Brexit? Or are you suggesting free speech should only apply to people who agree with you?
  8. And what about our shipyards, steel industry ect ect . According to Gareth Stace, the director general of UK Steel, Brexit will make things worse for the steel industry, rather than better. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/may/26/uk-steel-industry-brexit-eu-damage-exports
  9. I don't think Iru Bru and shortcake would be compulsory in an independent Scotland. And if they were, at least it would be good news for denture manufacturers.
  10. If it's a choice between having Boris in charge or kilts, bagpipes, Irn Bru and shortbread, I'll take the kilts, bagpipes, Iru Bru and shortbread.
  11. The short answer is that it is very easy to leave the EU: just declare Article 50 and wait two years. However, it is much harder to leave the EU and not severely damage the economy in the process, and MPs know that people who have lost their jobs and are unable to pay their mortgages are unlikely to vote for them in the next General Election.
  12. Can I ask which countries you think it will be easier to trade with immediately after Brexit?
  13. ^You do realise that even if Article 50 is revoked, you'll still be able to vote for pro-Brexit MPs and MEPs, and if enough people also vote for them, they'll be able trigger Article 50 all over again?
  14. Speaking for myself, it's the things he does and says.
  15. While Scotland is part of the UK, and shares a currency, economic turmoil ( eg mass unemployment and a devaluation of the pound ) in England is going to affect us, whether you like it or not.
  16. I would prefer to see no notice and not one single euroboat fishing our waters. It would benefit our country, rather than giving it all away. It might benefit the fishing industry. It would devastate the car industry (whose supply chains rely on frictionless trade), and without the time to build up stockpiles of food and medicine, the consequences could be severe.
  17. If a non-deal Brexit with two and a half year's notice would cause economic chaos, surely a no-deal Brexit with no warning at all would be even worse?
  18. Would it not have been a lot better if we had told Brussels that we were dumping them - from the outset? Would there then be any need for Article 50? Better for who?
  19. I wouldn't worry about it: May's deal doesn't stand a chance of getting through Parliament.
  20. If they were any good, they'd have known you would be asking that last week. I'm surprised they haven't phoned you already
  21. Do you specialise in berets and stripey jumpers?
  22. I'd recommend E&H http://www.ehbuildingcontractors.com/ They did a fantastic job on our house.
  23. It's interesting that Peat's figures claim that 20% of people with cardiovascular disease are smokers, but that 24% of people aged 16 and over smoke. Does this suggest that smoking doesn't significantly affect the chances of developing cardiovascular disease, or has Peat got his numbers in a muddle?
  24. I would say it was definitely ill-judged. Either "KKK" aren't bothered by the association with the Ku Klux Klan, or they're too dim to have made the connection. Neither option reflects terribly well on them.
