Same here, few months ago i locked myself in a garage and won't find the way to get out. I decided to drill the lock and get out but luckily i have contact details of locksmith decatur ga, they helped me in unlocking the door.

[Mod edit - thanks for your contribution CreedJohn, but we expect that a call out from your base in Altanta, Georgia, USA to Shetland would be a little expensive. We're quite sure you're not a spammer but we have taken the precaution of removing the link in your post. We're sure Shetlanders in need of an emergency locksmith will be able to Google you themselves **]

however when an eu presidential type gets there knickers in a knot over a no deal Brexit. then maybe its the best option. no deal no pay. border with ireland and the north two lanes one for Irish/brits another for all others. and why should there not be a border? should we leave it open so all other europeans could bypass our customs? and again why should we do ireland any favours. we agreed free movement not free customs.

17.5 mil now in the hands of the unelected and removed from council reserves. The monster they created bought back, with a healthy private sector portfolio added and more conflicts of interest (those who set the rent collect the rates...). The whitehouse debacle/lost rent also disappears into an opaque mist...

Time to buy the MRI scanner now that playing landlord badly is over. That would benefit the people of Shetland, and in my eyes at least, is exactly the type of thing the fund should be used for.

it does seem unfair single adults are treated differently because of sex. the councils south have stamped down on fake/relettings why cant shetland it may just provide enough housing to meet some of the demand. seems madness to be wasting over 400 a month on an empty house. if subletting then that should be treated as fraud.

muckin you say burning clean plastic. this stuff is going to be recycled is it. has anyone asked who is going to take it as china has refused now. at what cost and co2 cost. trucks boats more trucks. it could be better to burn it locally than take it south for recycling.

if scotland is so bad why stay. face it scotland is never going to satisfy your desire to convert it to outer london. you run a business why do you think they would know your not producing non domestic waste. why would you get rate relief as you dont pay commercial rates. im really pleased that our health service does not makes us pay for being sick £8.20 soon to raise by 20% i have 10 diffrent meds per month. my daughter is on 5  so in england each month i would be paying £150 to stay alive. sorry England is out of step not scotland. at the moment 3000 learning disabled/autistic kids and young adults are locked up in assessment units for years without a chance of proper care. England may have more current laws but they dont obey them. us

I don't think anyone is against improving the quality of life in and for Shetland. The polarising issue that comes up time and time again is the incessant SNP bashing. Whether said bashing is founded or not, it is the constant negativity that appears to stir folk up (myself included) and gets nowhere.

I do not believe the SNP and SG to be all bad. Neither do I believe them to be all good. However, when all you see from the same ardent WS supporters (Tinkler, Inkster etc.) is a constant stream of SNP bashing, (again, whether founded or not) it leads to conflict. Needless and pointless conflict.

About the only thing that has kept me from completely discounting WS is a small glimmer of sense emanating from Whalsa's keyboard. A clear belief in the core principles of WS, along with an acceptance that everything *on any side* *isn't always perfect* makes for a basis for actual debate and subsequently the option of progress. And there is so much progress to be made that the never ending stream of "SNP BAAAD" daily diatribes pretty much kill most folks belief that any progress is indeed possible.

Personally, I'm fed up with it. When it comes to talk of improving Shetland, I don't care if the SNP were spawned from the depths of Hell (or not). I want to see those at the helm being capable of looking forward and acknowledging that nobody is indeed perfect.

your group  paid for an add supporting a lib dem candidate. your personnel political view does not matter to your leaders. they are lib dem supporters. you voting ukip tell us all we need. your Scottish leader is an inspiration. why a man that hates authority supports an extreme group well it takes all sorts.

There is little faith in the Wir Shetland group, I suspect, because of the hysterical, irrational, ill informed and downright nasty ranting of the vocal few on this and other forums. No amount of "I don't speak for Wir Shetland" or "My views are my own" disclaimers is going to change the impression that this is the Wir Shetland MO. The Wir Shetland brand is already trashed by association and I fear that it may well be beyond salvage. If Wir Shetland is to have any semblance of credibility they need to very quickly disassociate themselves from those behaviours and start putting forward, and engaging in, sensible and intelligent debate. Until they do that the suggestion that "Shetland residents are too dumb and stupid to govern themselves" is certainly understandable.

Of course, being told by a chairman and his committee how you should think, who you should vote for and what you should boycott causes no problems for those who agree with them.
The pillorying of Amanda Westlake is a fine example of what happens when you disagree.
By joining "wir Shetland" she obviously agreed with them regarding more powers for Shetland.
Why do you think she ended up quitting?

WS became involved in tribal party politics the minute they backed the Liberal Democrat candidate Tavish Scott in the Scottish election.
In addition, the endless churning out of SNP bad stuff (getting more and more hysterical the closer we get to the election) makes the claim they're some all encompassing group, desperate to avoid tribal party politics absolutely ludicrous.

Nicola was very nice.  I spent Monday morning with her.

We actually never spoke about politics. She did not visit us to canvas our opinions. She wanted to meet the ponies and Lambie and have a cup of tea and cake. She asked us questions about our lives and not one mention was made of Scotland. It was like having a friend over. She loved Lambie and the ponies.  Bjørn Roar Larsen said he liked her hair and she was relaxed and didn't want to leave. A really normal morning spent with a new friend, not a politician at all.

Nice to hear an honest assessment from somebody who has actually met her.I'm afraid views like this won't be tolerated in "wir" Shetland though.
The memo said we had to really dislike the SNP and boycott any meetings with them.
