  1. Afternoon All, Thought that this might interest a few people on here. Also if anyone has some worthwhile tips feel free to post them up. (there are at least two punters I know who come on here regular) Today 540 Uttoxeter a horse by the name of Shetland. Backed it e/w today @ 25's. Certianly wouldn't be in a position to tip her on her maiden trip but one to watch if only for the novelty value. Not sure who owns it? Maybe someone on here can shed some light. Anyhoo - Fill Yer Boots Folks and Get some extra pendors for parting this weekend. Good Luck!
  2. Craig Dinwoodie? He has been playing 'top-flight' football in Shetland for @ 20 years now. Represented Shetland, and more importantly been an ambassador for Delting during their rise to the top and subsequent spell as the Number One force in Island Football. Next time you see him on the Street, Stop Him and Buy Him a Pie. Or a Cheeseburger. Hell even a Poke of Chips. And thank him for some magical Sporting Memories. It would be more than what Delting did for him at the end of his career with them. (that's maybe a story for another thread )
  3. Your mole informed you he resigned? Could he possibly have been forced to resign? Both sides save face? Who Knows. Could this lead to Delting reataining their position as Number One in Shetland Football again? A boss fully focused on the Delts, it could well happen. Seven League Titles and an Island games(2005 - it was Delting what won it) surely had him down as the best manager in the County. Interesting to see who the replacement will be - the Scott-Christie/Graham partnership would be my preferred choice although I would prefer that at Delting - Think Graham would not be keen as he is still pulling the knife from his back from last decade.
  4. I totally agree. This is a disgrace and I'm embarrassed to be a Delt at the moment. The worst post ever to be posted on any forum. *** Mod edit personal attacks removed ***
  5. Ah well, as my pal Meat says: Two Outta Three Aint Bad! On a day when they posted huge losses and got put in their place regarding joining the English leagues it looks like Uefa have bottled it and fined R*ngers £18k. Why no Ban? We are aware they cannot deduct them 3 points(HA HA) but surely to have these tinks participate in a behind-closed-doors match was possible?
  6. Overwhelmingly Rejected. Ha Ha. Problem is these pair of tinks will now give us, oh, two weeks before their propaganda about an 'Atlantc League' starts up. See below for the latest: Atlantic League table Pos Team Pld GD Pts 1 Unirea Urziceni 2 +3 4 2 Hamburg 2 +1 4 ==================== Diddy teams start here 3 Celtic 2 -1 1 4 Rangers 2 -3 1 I can see this relegation battle going all the way. Good luck to the plucky Old Firm, I say.
  7. Speaking of Millionaires / Billionaires and the Ness brings me nicely to an interesting piece of gossip that may or may not have been picked up in the Lounge last Sunday afternoon. A 'South Mainland' player currently working at SVT (controversially if you cast your minds back) is apparently worried by redundancies. He is yet to refute claims he could be leaving the former league champions for the current league champions. Anyone fancy a side bet that the CHARISMAtic player may be due to sit his sea survival course in Scalloway? The only possible flaw to this is the big mans no very kean on da' water. Oh and Martin Binns has still NOT signed for the Tizers.
  8. Whitedale to potentially pick up two new siginings. One a regular First Teamer for the Delts last season (when not suspended) the other a regular when not down under Just a signature required for the first player - possibly the influence of his cousin and frustration with the current set-up with his hometown club has pushed this through?!?!? The second player depends on whether or not they return to the Rock or seek employment elsewhere. Oh and Martin Binns will NOT be joining the Tizers just yet. More News to come as it happens Folks............
  9. Hey Frankie nice to see you 'reckon' at least two of our goals should not have counted. Think you listen too much to Timmy from Brae that works in your office What about a blatant penalty in the first half for the Dons???? Incident only highlighted once by turdanta - never be the case if it was the other end. Bring on Rangers. A double Rat Sandwich for Dons fans everywhere.
  10. Latest I heard was: John Jamieson will neither Confirm or Deny Reports he's interested. Is is possible that Bristow could be tempted back???? Certainly think he should be involved in an advisory role. Has anyone publicly declared an interest????
  11. Fair Enough. But he should never be considered for selection again regardless who is manager. Don't see him making the same fuss with the pair of bams that manage him at club level. What would be very interesting was if (not likely I Know) we qualified for South Africa - Would he change his mind????? Typical of modern footballers - You Don't See Martin Binns doing this when he gets overlooked :)
  12. WHO: Graham MacAllister. WHERE: Gilbertson Park, @ 17 Years Ago. WHAT: Free Kick 25/30 Yards Out. All his 'Weight' Behind It. Postage Stamp. Pure Burst The Net. Ask Joe Hunter. Or Gerry Kearney.
  13. "I think John Jamieson is the only choice. He has all the credentials to take Shetland to the next level." The above is a quote from Kirsty on the 'Island Games' Thread. Quite different from the her previous quote on this thread. Is this another example of 'women' and football?!?!?!?!?!? Anyway - Its not something I have wished for but you did hear it here first. John Jamieson as next boss (backed up by a strong team of coaches) and JOHN SCOTT CHRISTIE to take over as Delting Boss and continue thier domination. Oh and following on the 'pre-season transfer talk'...... It is highly likely that the Delts will be adding to their squad with some Islanders. Just the gossip on these pages have the wrong spies. Up The Delts x
  14. Just got back onshore and good to see that the Champions have at least merited some respones!!!! As for who can topple them?!?!?!? I think next year will be even closer but as the words to a song I heard drifting across the lovely Busta Voe goes: Tell all of Shetland Football, Its Gonna' Be Eight in a Row, Tell all of Shetland Football, Its Gonna' Be Eight in a Row, We Know We're Great, So **** Off Jim Tait, Its Gonna Be Eight in a Row........... Ironically to the Tune of 'the Entertainer'
  15. Good points Marshall - about the most sense I have seen written about Delting. Everyone else(and not just posts on here) seems concerned with the chasing pack and how there has been no real challenge?!?!?!?!? Like I Said Credit where its due!!!!!! I'm sure the time will come when someone else wins the league as everything must come to an end but for 7(SEVEN) in a row titles and the numerous cups being picked up it is an acheivement that will not be beat for a very very long time. As for the teams of the 1980's and '90's???? I think, and going by what a lot of 'pundits' say, the standard is much much higher now than then and to dismiss the lack of challenge Delting received?!?!?!? Appears Shetland Football is full of poor losers. This Whalsay side are about the strongest the Bonnie Isle has produced. With regards to the Shetland Times - not only has the standard been falling rapidly in it over the years - they had nobody around on Wednesday night when the Champions were crowned. Would this have been the case for any of the Lerwick sides????? As for the Island games team - that was a tongue-in-cheek comment. Take nothing away from Bristow and the boys. Which brings me on nicely to another point. What with "PR Disasters" and grumblings from players regarding training, and a possible decision to snub Aland for the Highland Cup - What chance JJ can be tempted from Delting to manage the Shetland team???? Word in the North Mainland is John-Scott Christie is already being lined up to replace JJ should he take on the top job.
