  1. Anyone know who delivers here for Zazzle/UPS? Package has come from the US. TIA
  2. Does anyone know who cleans windows in the town centre these days and do you have contact details? I know Scottie (from Scalloway) did it but not sure if he still does or if there's anyone else? TIA.
  3. Facebook pages can be set to public and many are, including mine - www.facebook.com/oilymuggie Open to all to see! When I had a sale recently, I included various forms of contact so that anyone, including those who didn't have a Facebook account, could buy!
  4. Agreed. Back in August I believe.
  5. If you refer to yourself as a charity, then you must be registered with OSCR - see below - and be subject to public accountability. I'm not sure and may be wrong but I believe that the Callum Younger Reach Fund might perhaps be a trust or something similar and because it's classed as such, doesn't have to have the public accountability that a charity does? Maybe someone more knowledgeable could clarify? Hasten to add that I am no way inferring that the Callum Younger Reach Fund is not being run correctly. "Thank you for your email of 23 August 2012 enquiring as to the requirement for charities operating in Scotland to register with OSCR. If a body is referring to itself as a charity it is required to be registered with OSCR. You can confirm that a body is a registered charity by searching our Charity Register search the charity register. If you still have concerns that the body concerned is not registered but referring to themselves as a charity you should forward the full details to us to enable us to follow it up. I trust this answers your query and if you require any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on 01382 220446 or by email at info@oscr.org.uk."
  6. On talking about their ponies being taken (since returned) - "It's mad because we've never seen them dance. They don't even know who Michael Jackson is."

    Redd Up

Very minor point but it's COPE (Community Opportunities for Participation in Enterprise) you're referring to, not Cope. That's wis! (no connection)
  8. Anyone know if Bonmarché deliver to Shetland via Royal Mail or courier? TIA
  9. No idea but presumably the same one I saw flying low over the voe between Voe and Brae. Quite spectacular, zooming along low with one wing pointing to the water and the other the sky, then straightening up towards Brae.
  10. Yikes! Hope you have a good time in Shetland again and hope you do manage to get onto the mainland (Shetland) sometimes.
  11. What about a letter in the Shetland Times?
  12. Ah, sorry, I don't look in here very often and presumed you now lived here. Good that you're able to come up in the summers though. Hopefully someone might be coming to the area and could give you a lift.
  13. That, for some ridiculous reason, made me smile! Yeah, it made me smile too.
  14. Cool. I joined in March but 6 years later. Didn't really know anything about Shetland till 2011 n didn't know this place existed till 2012. I'm now a Shetland addict Ha ha, good stuff! Hope you've settled in ok. If you're out for a run in the north mainland come and see me in Oily Muggie in Hillswick from May.
  15. Just noticed on this thread, that I, MuckleJoannie and Frances144, joined Shetlink in April, May and June 2006. (Piece of useless information. )
  16. It was filmed in Eshaness and featured the Drongs and Doreholm in the background and of course the Eshaness Lighthouse. Hillswick also got a look in with the pony moonwalking over the lovely West Ayre beach.
  17. We're only with them as we'd been with Pipex for years (used to be very good) and then Pipex was taken over a few times. Various reasons, including my illness, meant we didn't get around to changing ISP as fast as we should have. They more than doubled what we'd been paying, and for a pretty poor service. What really got me was also the sneaky way they informed customers by letter of price increases - main letter appeared to be general stuff and the real reason for the letter was hidden away on the back in tiny print. Underhand.
  18. Dire. Hillswick. Talk Talk. http://www.speedtest.net/result/2353720474.png Grade F- - slower than 98% of the population.
  19. Really? I'm surprised you're surprised they have a business plan.
  20. Hoping it all goes well - especially the lighting, cabling, etc! My brother-in-law's (husband's brother) company was involved - http://www.northernlight.co.uk/news/210-northern-light-delivers-at-uks-most-northerly-arts-ventre
