  3. I note that Radio Orkney reports the formation on Orkney FC with the aim to Play in the North Caledonian League over the winter. A move in the right direction and one that will give players in their County setup a winter of competative football together. From the Orcadian http://www.orcadian.co.uk/2012/08/ball-rolling-on-orkney-fc/ North Caledonian League http://www.leaguewebsite.co.uk/northcaledonianfa/Home http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Caledonian_Football_League
  4. No you can with the agreement of the club holding your registration, which I took from your initial post was a Shetland Football Association B team? transfer to another club in that association as they have no limit on the transfers a player can have in a season nor do they have a deadline for transfers. You would not be able to go to the works league now as they have a transfer deadline on the signing of players both within their association and from players who have been registered by teams in membership of other associations. So your only avenue is transfering to a B team by the look of it.
  5. I kid you not, 15th of July was the deadline, no inter club within the association or inter association transfers after that date. You can only sign a player after that date, if he has not been registered before.
  6. Pretty late to be looking for a move so late in the season to be honest most squads are settled now, and its after the transfer deadline in the works league so you won't be able to move to a team there as you are already registered as a B player going by your original post.
  7. It may be the North Caledonian League they are looking to enter. http://www.leaguewebsite.co.uk/northcaledonianfa/Home
  8. When did you hear that the Highland league was expanding again?
  9. Between the two clubs there are 56 players signed, so enough to run an A and B team if they can sort out the nuts and bolts of how to get it to work so both the Unst FA and Yell FA feel they have an equal say and part in it.

  24. Some of the most competative and enjoyable games to watch were when there was a more equitable division of the funds wether it be TV money or gate receipts etc. I would not argue that the TV companies are keen to see the number of old firm derbies stay the same, but for the long term competativness of Scottish football it needs to change. A 16 team league would be better play each other twice with a winter break. Playoffs for promotion and relegation. For one team or the two acting in conjunction to be able to veto what the majority wish to move towards is no way to run a show. You can harldy say the current financial model is working? Spend stupidly and try and compete with the top two, one of whom is now in a serious financial position themselves. Or try and live within a budget reduce debt and be unable to break the on pitch monoply of the top two. Some teams are doing ok but the ability to keep up that pressure over more than one season is rare, and that ends in the product that many are deciding not to go an spend their Saturday afternoons watching anymore.
  25. Things don't change much in here apart from folk arguing over stuff that other posters were arguing about way back on pages 13/14 etc and still no winners. How about debating the stance of the old firm on blocking change within the SPL and its damage to the rest of Scottish football something new for a change.
