My friend did report this. Was told it was ok. I think I will query Hjaltland myself. It is totally unjust that Hjatland tenants are subletting their properties to make a profit.

I was amazed to learn that Hjatland tenants that sub- let their properties for up to a year can make a substantial profit on the home they don't own! My friend viewed a Hjaltland 2 bedroom flat in Scalloway. Tenants going back to England for a year. Rent approximately £300 per month to Hjatland. Tenant wanting £600 per month? Plus a deposit? Two other flats in the same area were up for rent for ridiculous rents. Owned by Hjatland.. I think Hjatland need to address their policy on sub-letting? And the waiting list for housing in Shetland..

The Council really has to address their homing of teenagers in temporary accommodation. Why? They are not old enough to behave! My child returned on Sunday afternoon to her accommodation. Toilets smashed up. The place a state. Partying all weekend. Mr Plod. How many times were you called out? Decent kids in temporary accommodation are getting a hard time because of these idiots! One teenager that regularly visits our home. Has reported to the Council and the police on numerous occassions weekend parties, fighting and noise in his shared accommodation. To no avail. It is shocking! I will be taking this forward with the Housing Department in the morning! No doubt the relevant person will be on holiday or off for a few days!! No one else can deal with it.. Typical of the SIC!

So the Council has shut down Scalloway Junior High. To save money! Really... The canteen is still being used for the Primary end. And the building is still being heated throughout with no kids to be seen. The kids are finding it hard to get lunch at the Anderson as there is not much space! I would like to ask our Councillors... Was it worth it? Closing the school.. Youz are saving {'f' it was funny in Father Ted 'eck'} all! Only putting our children's education at risk.

On the British Mainland you are more than welcome to take your dog, cat etc on the bus. Or even by train. What is the problem with this in Shetland? Not everyone has a car and the current Veterinary Practices are at Scalloway and Bixter. A bit out of reach for some. Bixter is a nightmare to get to at anytime regardless of a bus. Without a car you need to rely on friends or family to get you there. Sometimes that is not possible. Especially in an emergency. Would be brilliant if Jim could set up a practice in Lerwick?
