    strike

S'up dog??? U mad bro??? Maybe you should have paid more attention to your teachers, what a struggle it was to read that!!!! I take it your unhappy with the upcoming strikes????
  2. Had a big smile reading this, absolutely brilliant. Is there a Northlink thread? I think there is, you should post this on there
  3. Change the record!!! The majority of Lerwick women I know completely disagree and prefer it the way it is
  4. Ha!! Your not the only one's, I think a handfull of squads maybe keeping an eye on this thread. If any good ideas come up then I hope your quick to the phone We tried the 'Burra Bears' the day the story broke, we were the seventh squad to phone in
  5. I think in general mobile phone coverage is not as good as it should be out of town. I'm pretty sure the south end of Shetland is quite good but once you hit the Tingwall straights when venturing north things get pretty bad. I think you'll find your problem is shared by many others, myself included. I have recently switched from o2 to Vodafone, it seems to work fine in town and south bound but as i said before problems begin when you leave town heading north. I think there is a lack of masts to help with the signals, but i really don't know much about it.
  6. Yeah but if you're paying you can say what you like on this forum about anybody, who cares who can see it! Bloody pathetic, this chap is getting a battering on here and the mods are doing nothing about! Fully agree with both these posts, this thread is pathetic and has seen its day, all points have been made. Hopefully the mods will lock and delete, shame on some of you
  7. Fair play Girzie, I don't use the cafe all that often but as I said, I've not had a bacon roll which I've felt so bad I've felt the need to complain, that goes for the tea also, coffee is rank no matter who/what makes it........YUK!!!!!!
  8. Mibee da torchboys should have a word we the Olympic torch guys, get some tips and tricks. I would like my torch to make it around the whole procession this year rather than halfway the last 4 Back on topic. I think it's great
  9. The chap flew into a rage when I pointed out that the food was still frozen and I had politely asked for a replacement. I did write and complain to the management on my return to Shetland – and got very short shrift from them. I can see why they are now ex-management. That's a really good idea - I'll take a picnic lunch and a thermos with me next time, and if the plane is delayed by a few hours I can hire a taxi to fetch me a takeaway from Lerwick. In fact I can take a black bag and cleaning materials to the airport as well so that I can clean the tables and your friend won't have his cosy chats with airport staff interrupted. Ah, I don't even know his name!! Take a thermos and a picnic if you want, its just more to carry!
  10. I did write and complain to the management on my return to Shetland – and got very short shrift from them. I can see why they are now ex-management. Why didn't you add this into your original post? Did you forget? It always amuses me when someone comes on Shetlink complaining of something, never mentions about actually complaining to staff/management etc, then when someone replies "Why did you not complain......" they suddenly remember they did complain Would you not have added that into your original post and also complain about the "short shrift" you got???? I personally haven't had any issues at the cafe, I only ever have bacon rolls and a cuppa, they're fine, nothing i wouldn't expect in an airport cafe. As for the worker you mention, he seems fine enough, i've seen him talk to co-workers but it's never bothered me, then again i'm pretty happy go lucky kinda guy
  11. I seen this story on the website yesterday, had a good chuckle at it and asked some 'married' friends if they were involved:)) Anyway I went back on the Shetland News website later that night to link it onto Shetlink and it had disappeared:)
  12. He is, was, and will always be remembered as a monster by all the people affected by his murderous reign. Fathers, mothers, grandparents, sons, daughters, friends etc etc etc. The guy murdered generations of families and why? Because he was a MONSTER. Obviously you are not but I am, I cannot speak for others. No, I would not be happy if this was the case but this seems to be the argument rolled out when any of these vicious dictators meet their end. At the end of the day I would have preferred him to stand trial, be found guilty then shot, hanged or given lethal injection but it didn't happen. He was caught by the very people he had persecuted, those who would have had relations murdered and tortured by him, did you really excpect him to make it out of that alive?!?! As far as wanting to see the video, I'm curious, will I take pleasure in watching it, maybe
  13. A human being? Really??? I have a different opinion to yours.......Deal with it!! I don't really want to see him buggered with a metal pole(not my thing) but i'm definately interested in seeing the man responsible for murdering, torturing and sodomizing thousands of his fellow humans, including woman and children getting what he most certainly deserved, in my opinion.
  14. Sutherlands will probably be 2p higher by the end of the day, along with the rest
  15. Yeh, called today and the lady thinks there must be a mistake so will get back to me on Monday. I'm actually glad I did phone as I wasn't going to, was just going to pay in full as punishment to myself for not reading the small print re charges. We'll see what happens on Monday, the lady on the phone was very understanding
  16. Ordered this from Ikea about 3 weeks ago and Shetland Transport took it up: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S79825211/ Now, i screwed up to begin with as I ordered the cushion padding and cover thinking i was ordering the chair. This cost me £14.99. I then ordered the chair carcas this cost me £45. Anyway, I got an invoice through the door from Shetland Transport today £25.80 for the carriage on the chair padding and cover. £36.00 for the carriage on the chair carcas. £62 carriage for a chair that cost me £59.99 I'm definately in the wrong line of work
