Why can I not se the ads section, is it me or is something wrong with the site.

Everybody is concerned about Covid but I have just seen on the internet that over 9 million people die from starvation each year. I am sure that we could do something about that considering the amount of money that is spent on bombs and bullets.

I am sure that many more people think along the same lines but are afraid to say anything because if you do you will get the PC police at your door or you will be labeled . I remember when much younger before NHS being very ill and my parents unable to pay doctors/medication bills. I was lucky as I survived. Many did not. I have over the years spent a lot of time living in America and believe you me you do not want their health care system. People in the UK do not know how lucky and privileged they are until you vote it away and then it will be too late. Scotland cannot afford independence and you will never get accurate costing figures from the SNP or for that matter any party. We can do better for Scotland by staying in the Union but if we leave it will never be as good as it is now.

As I have said in previous posts you are delusional/kidding yourselves if you think that you are going to be better off on leaving the Union. At my age I am most unlikely to see separation but I do feel for the young people of this country even if it is most likely them that will vote it through not realizing the consequences.

After looking at the link that Muckle Oxters posted it seems that we are doing much better than I expected as part of the Union so why leave as surely being on our own or joining the EU would be a risk. Would more autonomy from Westminster not be a better idea. I know Westminster is not doing itself any good at the moment but the EU also seems to be imploding.

From the fact that no one seems to be able to tell me about Scotlands supposed wealth I must conclude that it does not have much and if that is the case leaving the Union would make Scotland a poorer place and why would Scotland jump out of the Union into a far more unknown situation with the EU. We will most certainly not get independence by joining the EU. It would be much better for Scotland to stay in the Union and get more autonomy from Westminster. Do all you lets leave the Union people really believe that the EU will be nice to us and that a hard border with Scotlands biggest trading partner will make Scotland more prosperous. As I said delusional.

I notice that none of the experts out there have posted anything to tell me why Scotland is a rich country. The main things that I see are oil which will run out fishing, other countries take it and tourism, not much of that at the moment so come on enlighten me.

All very interesting but it is irrelevant to to the future as the Chinese who are in pursuit of world domination will be in charge. They already have the commercial market wrapped up as most of what we buy comes from China and when we are on our own we will not have a military force and no nuclear weapons. The Chinese have been very clever over the years with their long term plan.We should stop buying from them and make our own. Tibet next Taiwan then Scotland. Better start learning Mandarin/Cantonese if you are a young person. Too late for me as I will be gone unless you believe in reincarnation then I will be back to face it all. Now where did I put that Chinese dictionary.

The nasty English remark was partly a joke but it is the way that I have heard the English being referred to by many Scots in various parts of Scotland.

Yes let a referendum happen but if it does the SNP will then spend many years trying to rejoin the EU and will not be focused on rebuilding Scotland. They have been in power for many years and if the figures etc are to be believed they have wasted billions ruined the education system etc but yes let us get away from the nasty English. For all the time that they have been in power their main objective has been independence, they could have done so much better.
