Arfski got a reaction from BigMouth in Worms for Anglers
We don't have a lot of shore angling, so maybe there just isn't the demand? I'm a casual angler that's mostly just enjoying some fresh air, so not noticed the lack of bait. You can buy online, Friends down South have used yorkshire-worms.co.uk for compost worms, I have not checked but if they use Royal Mail then might be a 2 day not 2 week "next day" delivery.
Edit: Translated into English!

Bringing some essentials with you can help save money once you're there.
Also, if you’re looking to cut down on travel expenses, you might want to look for cheap business class tickets. They offer a comfortable journey without costing a fortune.

What a lovely post and beautiful song!
I live on Unst and all my family on my mother's side are from the comunidad Valenciana. Valencia and Benetússer is my second home, my favourite pass time is to walk all the way into town and sit in the Plaça de l'Ajuntament at the Café & Tapas for a coffee and croissant in the morning and watch the tourists and world go by.

I feel for Farage. He's been pelted with so many milk shakes and lagers of late, his dry cleaning bill must be astronomical.
And if he's no going stateside to grift, it must surely mean even trump doesn't want him. Poor fellow

Oh nice try with the colour change to hide the spam URL at the end of your bot post! And I can see from your post history that this is not your first rodeo either, A+ good effort.

Arfski got a reaction from BigMouth in Bitcoin
What a rubbish job, trawling the internet looking for btc posts on forums, registering, pretending to post a valid comment, posting a blatant advertisement as a follow-up and then moving on to the next target. Mod, come delete this SEO spam!
Four tops? Heaven is missing an angel? Wait, no, that was Tavares not Alverez...

@hastings guy > Live | Shetland.org < this website is a good starting point.
As Colin says, don't be seduced by pictures of sunny beaches and healthy young people skipping through flower meadows - the winters are long, dark, brutal, and an acquired taste!

Arfski reacted to BashyBashy in Minecraft minigame server created by enthusiasts in Shetland - Seeking players for testing, and possibly moderators and helpers.
Hi,
I fully realise this is a bit of a long shot, and I hope you don't mind me posting this here, but are there any Minecraft enthusiasts out there willing to come and help us test a java Minecraft minigame server we have been creating, by simply coming for a game and giving us some feedback? Our team is 100% based in Shetland, and we would like to "seed" our server with a few kind people at the outset. Shetland seems like a good place to start.
We started working on creating a minigame server because we felt that most of the servers out there are either far too toxic, and/or full of hackers/cheats. We want to create a safer, fairer and more positive space for youngsters to enjoy online. Also since the Hive closed down their java server in 2021 there are hardly any European java servers doing minigames for v1.8 onward, and the high latency ("ping") to the servers in the USA puts folk from here at a disadvantage.
It's for the Java version only (for PC / Mac), unfortunately we are not going to do cross-platform for the Bedrock version like many other servers, because doing so would render our automated anticheat system almost completely useless. So it can't accept players on consoles or mobile, who run Bedrock. Sorry! On the upside if you have a Bedrock MC account then you also automatically have free access to a java account, albeit you need a PC to access it.
Key points:
Access to the server is completely free. It will never be put behind a paywall. We want our server to be safe, kind, non-toxic, child-friendly, and fun! Zero-tolerance of hackers, cheats & toxicity. A safe-haven for newer players. Server managed by enthusiasts from Shetland. Excellent anticheat. Less-skilled players are given "encouragement" kits. Karma system gives in-game advantage to players who are kind, to help prevent toxicity. Game modes are all unique to our server and have been made from scratch. They include: Bedwars, Assault Course, Full Iron Armour, Survival multiplayer (SMP). If you're interested, you can find more details at our website: https://bashybashy.com/
We have not launched yet, but hope to do so shortly. If you're keen to join in, or even to help in some way, please either reply to this post, or join our discord server and post there. A link to our discord: https://discord.gg/fMvutrvTk5
We also have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bashybashycom
Hope some of you can come join us for a game some time! Cheers.

Arfski reacted to shetlander in Online civility
I agree entirely DavieP. Whilst there have always been avenues to express negative views publicly it can be done so much easier nowadays and the increasing prevalence of it on social media just seems to validate that it’s ok to do.
The thing that astounds me about it all is the lack of midder wit some folk have before embarking on a keyboard rant. We live in a peerie place and I’m sure I’m not the only one that has formed a less than favourable opinion of some of the most notable local Facebook commentators despite never having met them in person. Do these folk not realise that if I was (say) an employer or a landlord that I might be unlikely to offer them a job or consider renting a house to them purely because of their online conduct?
I could - but obviously won’t - name an individual who I distinctly remember calling a local female politician a ‘bimbo’ and another - who happens to be a local business owner - calling a group of public sector workers ‘c***s’. They’re not saying this in a private conversation but in a forum viewable by millions of folk. Do they not think that mightn’t be appropriate or, in the case of the local businessman, that it might discourage folk - as it has for me - from wanting to support them?
I’m not sure Shetlanders are necessarily any more negative than folk elsewhere. But I do think there’s an increasing air that we’re always hard done by and we’ve never been treated so badly by politicians and infrastructure/public service providers. I used to think o wis as resilient and accepting that due to wir isolation, geography and weather that things don’t and can’t always work the way they do elsewhere but I do sense that’s starting to slip.
That all said, there are 20,000 odd adults here and the negativity still just comes from a vocal minority. I’m always heartened that a single post from a brave soul who sticks their head above the parapet and applies some positivity, truth and perspective among a sea of misinformed, negative twaddle very often attracts a much higher number of ‘likes’ than some of the crap spouted by others.
