  1. I hear that Jordan Webb has signed for Celtic? If hes not asked/told Celtic he wants to leave will there be a stand off between the two clubs?
  2. An unconventional 4-3-3 GK: Peterson (NU) RB: Richard Arthur (Whal) CB: Joel Bradley (Cel) CB: Finn Watt (Cel) LB: Piotr Drozdowski (Whitd) RCM: Connor Regan (Cel) CM: Karl Williamson (Whal) LCM: Scott Bridges (Scy) LF: James Aitken (Cel) CF: Eric Thomson (Whal) RF: James Johnston (Spu)
  3. Thistle 0 - 4 Whalsay Ness Utd 0 - 3 Celtic Scalloway 3 - 0 Whitedale Delting v Spurs was postponed due to no referee being available.
  4. Any idea when the SFA website is going to be updated with results from the past few weeks? Don't see b team results anywhere and tables are not up to date?
  5. GK: Paul Grant (Cel) RB: Richard Arthur (Wha) CB: Duncan Fraser (W'dale) CB: Joe Pottinger (Wha) LB: Josie Kay (Spu) RM: Scott Morrison (Spu) CM: Duncan Cumming (Scy) CM: James Johnston (Spu) CM: Karl Williamson (Wha) LM: James Aitken (Cel) ST: Jamie Wilson (W'dale)
  6. I would also like to reiterate what Glipper has said. Ivor deserves huge credit for the upturn in Whitedale's fortunes, He's sacrificed a huge amount of time over the past decade with first juvenile football and now senior football. I should have said so in my previous post. I couldn't be any more neutral and would once again like to point out that the referee did not have any effect on the outcome of the match. He maybe got somethings wrong but on the whole he did ok. He made his own decisions and even overruled his assistant on a couple of occasions!
  7. Couldn't disagree more. Spurs should have won it easily, Whitedale were second best by a long way for 90 minutes. Individual mistakes cost Spurs as Whitedale struggled to string two passes together until extra time, in which they played much better. James Johnston ran the show for the entire game, Duncan Fraser held Whitedale together. Referee didn't have any effect on outcome of match.
  8. To be fair a 7-5 scoreline would suggest that neither defence was up to much on the night. There are very few goals scored that you can truthfully say there was nothing you could do to stop it.
  9. I breifly watched this game on Friday night. Not much of a game but Yell definately had 11 players on the park.
  10. Please correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the only reason for the windfarm in Shetland the financial rewards available. This is obviously dependant on securing funding for a cable to the mainland because without this the project isn't viable (is my understanding correct?). Would a tidal wave project be able to justify a cable to the mainland? Would the financial rewards be similar?
  11. Shetland will not be allowed to enter Highland league competitions. This has been made quite clear by the association that governs the league and cups. Too much opposition amongst their member clubs, both Highland League and NCL. A offer was put forward at one of their meetings to allow a Shetalnd team to compete in their cups. There is an odd number of teams so there was no competition problems. Shetland offered to play all games away from home at no cost to Highland League. It was vetoed as Shetland is a select side, is not affiliated to SFA, and it would not send out the correct signal to North Caledonian League (effectively the Highland League's 2nd division).

Think i'm right in saying that whilst many have had trials with various clubs the only one's who have signed/played for professional clubs are Ernie Smith (Hibs); Karl Williamson (Aberdeen and Brechin); Moray Leask (Hearts, Berwick, Brechin and Montrose) and Glen Gilfillan (Berwick). Also Harry Jamieson played for Airdrie reserves at one point but i'm not sure if he signed for them.
  15. Were you both forced to play them in B's over past few years? No but you did. The quality of A football, with exception of Delting and Whalsay, is better than B's but not a whole lot better. God help me but here goes again! If Unst and Yell played together would they not be able to supply a full complement of players other than juveniles and juniors? Probably. Your combined population resembles that of whalsay and they have a thriving youth system and successfull senior set up. Strength in numbers!!!
