kiech and donut, i think that you are both massively underinformed about the whole situation. it is incredibly stupid, in my opinion, for the government to even consider closing the coastguard station here, given the vast area which it 'looks after'. all coastguards perform a vital role, and in an island community, this is higlighted even more.

My granny has just given me an album of old Up Helly Aa photos. Some of these are dated, and some have the names of the squad on them, however the vast majority have no such tools of identification. That said, the fact that some family members are in some of them means they can be roughly dated 1930s-1960s. If anyone would like to help me find the year and name of the squad, and/or identify individuals in the photos, please get in touch! Any assistance would be very much appreciated!
