  1. I agree with Wheesht. Almost every bar in town that had something going for it has been f*****d up by the owners. Thule, Queens, Excelsior, the list goes on. And the Lerwick Hotel (snug or pigs' bar) usd to be good and the owner went and closed da thing down, allegedly because it was "lowering the tone of the premises". Absolute crap!!!
  2. Tje point I was trying to make about Wheesht is – what is the point harping on about anonymous complaints when you're anonymuos yoiurself?
  3. I agree with what Poooks said. There are, sadly a lot of fok in Shetland who think its better to have things originated from tda sooth. Visit Shetland is one of the worst offenders, and Shetland Arts Trust and Shetlan Amenity Trust are no far behind. This is a perfect example of that. Another is that guy Gwynneth Gwalliams who is the new arts trust boss. He comes from Wales or somewhor and is apparfenly commuting to Shetlan every week. Absolute nonsense this neds to be knocked on the head.
  4. I also find it unsurprising that those same people will NEVER turn out and help organise any sport, which are all entirely run by volunteers. It is little wonder that fewer and fewer people will put their hands up and help when those who will NEVER help, freely, vociferously and anonymously criticise those who do. So who are you then Wheesht???? Jonners is, not for the first time, talking a lot of sense here.
  5. When James McFadden went AWOL out in the Far East he was supposed to be with a Shetland lass. Maybe O'Conner has done the same.
  6. It seems the twat from Guernsey got his just rewards in this week's Times. The Times has finally got something wright it seems. Ho Ho ho.
  7. I know someone who many years ago admitted to doing something he hadnt done just to get the police off his back. They put the friteners on him, tellin him they knew hed done it and there was no way he could get out of it. I lost all respect I had for the police after that. No doot there are some good bobbys around, even now, but there doesnt seem to be a log of respect all round.
  8. In last week's Shetland Times it was stated that no-one has benefitted from the Leighton Flaws transfer saga. I'd say that Delting definitely have benefitted. Nobody will touch them for years now, and as a fully payed up member of the Delts fan club I think it's brilliant. Sod off da times!
  9. Tirvaluk has got it pretty much right. celts for league and scottsh cup, gers for cis cup. Jees!, wha is dis Wheeesht man?!
  10. Has John Johnson not resigned from posts about 100 times now. He gave up the Thistle job in 1996, halfway through the season, and went to play in goals for Yell or Northern Rovers or someone. He rarely sticks a job and would be unlikely to stick the Sheltand one, especially if he has to do all the work like Niall Bristow had to.
  11. If people like Wheeesht have such an interest why dont they get involved with he association. They're always on the lookout for new blood, and a few radical ideas might be worthwhile. No point in condemning others for not getting involved if you're not going to do it yourself.
  12. Who says? I tak it Wheeesh is a member of the SFA, who are generally jeelous of the organisation of the parish cup. Wheesh's remarks are far too authorative to be takken seriously. Cool it man!
  13. Yell, Celtic, Ness United, Scalloway, Whitedale, Burra, Spurs and Unst will have to play each other twice in the premier league. I for one can see many points being dropped by those percieved as the big boys in that group. It's all very well having these teams in the premier league but all the greater spread of players will do is make a strong Delting even stronger. They aren't losing anyone, even strengthening the team with the likes of Leighton Flaws. It is difficult to see past Delting for the next five or six years, and on top of what they have already achieved it is not a particularly healthy state for overall Shetland football.
  14. I hear a former Thistle manager has been approached by some of the current Shetland players about taking on the county job. Not sure who it it but apparenly he said no as he's been outt of football too long. Nobody seems to want this job except John Johnson so it is a shoein whichever way yiou look at it.
