  1. Can you vote for Juncker? Can you vote for Tusk? Can you vote for Shultz? The only questions that matter, as so eloquently put by Tony Benn: 1. What power have you got? 2. Where did you get it from? 3. In whose interests do you exercise it? 4. To whom are you accountable? 5. How can we get rid of you? The last is of paramount importance, and particularly when the EU fails to address this last point so badly - the European Commission, take note.
  2. Lets get a Shetland Poll going , it is apparent there will be a certain amount of Strategic voting as Scottish Nationalist will hope to trigger a second Scottish election. Folk with solid socialist principles will be voting as David Cameron and the Royal Family suggest, strange times indeed...... everybody has their view ....?
  3. The collapse of the E.U. has already begun, all across Europe people are flocking to the anti E.U parties, the most recent and extreme of those being PERGIDA which is worrying. The E.U. leaders brought this on themselves due to the undemocratic nature of the commission and the extravagant Champagne lifestyles they all enjoy.

  5. My coherent fact Mr Staney Dale is that I spent years dumping hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of good edible fish to live within E.U. law and then had to leave the industry penniless due to that management regime which continues to destroy large quantities of Shetland's food resource to this day. Mr Joannies various establishment tabloid examples fails at this first particular hurdle - Why if Norway , with their excellent infrastructure, high level of social services and control over their vast marine resources, are struggling so with E.U law do they not join ?? Please furnish me with the coherent facts you have accumulated thanks to your superior I.Q. and intellect.
  6. What a LOAD OF CRAP - Muckle Joannie ! Who are you ? Jonathon Will's ? How prosperous is their fisheries compared to the Uk as a whole ? Back up your sweeping statements with real facts why dont you !!
  7. Leave without a doubt , you should attach a poll to the thread Redrobbie.....
  8. This needs a major review . The planning department is not fit for purpose.
  9. Get a grip George , pilot whales are not endangered and they are eating them. You are just being a sensationalist fairy. If you want to get all self righteous about abuse of the planet why not go for something that is having a global impact ? The monoculture of palm oil & the eradication of huge swathes of the planets tropical jungle to grow soya to feed all the cattle which the bulk of the human race over-eats. This faroese tradition is sustainable and they have every right to do so if they wish.
  10. Very interesting George.... Just a thought though......, Mars is not some pristine garden of eden waiting for us to exploit. I think we would have a hard job making it inhabitable first before we then poison it and move on. I have my doubts if any thing like that will be happening in 30 years time !! Anyway , I totally agree with ReesMogg . If yourself and Arabia Terra are correct then it will becurtains for all of us!!
  11. Interesting thoughts on climate change about 5 minutes in.....
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32977814 One Norwegian politician stating the UK is better of paying for membership of the E.U. is just typical of the types of story the E.U. sponsored mainstream media is going to bombard us with until the referendum. If it were the case surely Norway would have joined already?? Amazing how 476.5 million euros can just dissapear . That missing money is the tax which comes of the wages of the proletariat ( We the people !)
  13. http://rt.com/shows/keiser-report/263157-episode-max-keiser-764/ any thoughts on this?????
  14. Full Fiscal Autonomy - will mean a multi billion black hole which would require tax rises or increased austerity. See the Scotsman newspaper. etc...... The SNP realise this would make them look as true to their manifesto as the Liberal Democrats in 2010 That is the correct answer to your classically flippant answer suggesting to ask the French ambassador. FroM flippant answers to back peddling , of course you suggested all the unsavoury bigots, racists or other unsavoury types vote solely for UKIP. That has been the on going tactic of the left leaning and pro E.U. mainstream media and latched upon by main stream media drones. No doubt UKIP has support from unsavoury people , call them bigots , fruitcakes or what ever you want but I must argue that it is an ignorant generalisation and the main way, those with no answers to UKIP's valid questions about democracy , self determinations and the cost of government, dodge the question . I am sure the SNP is supported by unsavoury English hating nationalist of limited intelligence and of course a sizeable wing of anti austerity welfare bummage, but it does nothing to further the debate so that is the last time I will make reference to it. In the highly unlikely event of a by-election I will be voting for Carmichael , even though he is pro E.U. I feel he would better respect Orkney and Shetlands democratic wish following the E.U. Referendum. Also as an ex-member of the last Conservative / coalition government he should be better connected than dAnus
  15. Well done Distortion , incapable of any rational debate on what UKIP is about you resort to the typical tactic of labelling all UKIP voters as modern day Nazis . Are you not capable of intelligent and rational debate ? I could just as easily say that SNP supporters exclusively English hating national socialists of limited intelligence although it may be more complex than that ?? Tell us why the SNP are now back peddling on getting F.F.A.?
  16. http://www.shetnews.co.uk/news/10767-protesters-call-for-election-re-run We the people ?? This bunch of turkey's do not speak for me. Hang tight Carbuncle , you are no worse a liar than Salmond and Sturgeon!!
  17. Nicola Sturgeon: Scotland belongs in Europe no matter what http://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/scottish-politics/a-tory-party-in-thrall-to-ukip-a-pm-heading-for-disaster-but-scotland-bel.127560856 1. The SNP wants "independence". 2. The SNP wants to leave a political union with the UK. 3. The SNP want to continue with a political union with the EU? 1. The EU is a political organisation that has significant control over the UK currently - correct? 2. Scotland would have even less voting numbers than the UK currently does - remember Cameron trying to block Juncker - correct? 3. How does wanting "independence" equate to wanting to cede power to a remote and unrepresentative political union in Brussels? The SNP / E.U. Stooges know that full independence whilst beneficial to the people would not be good for the wealth or opportunities of the political elite.
  18. Having just watched last night's question time on i player it was interesting to see two topics discussed which are linked in a serious way for Orkney and Shetland. 1.) Carbuncles Caffuful 2.) The referendum on E.U. Membership. Carmichael and the lib dems are a pro union party and Orkney & Shetland delivered one of the largest results within Scotland in favour of remaining in a United Kingdom. Now the SNP would rather not allow us the democratic choice on the United Kingdoms continued expensive membership and status as a sub standard democracy as a province of Europe. They also want to thwart the United Kingdoms chance of returning to a fully self governing sovereign democracy by giving up membership of this supranational politburo. They plan to do this by demanding each of the home nations of the UK deliver a majority to leave the E.U. This undemocratic demand could mean that Northern Ireland or perhaps slightly more than half the electorate of Scotland could thwart the democratic wish of THE MAJORITY of UK voters. Now if we do have a by election and end up with an SNP-EU stooge representing us followed by an EU referendum in which Scotand votes to continue as member and a province of the EU Superstate. They will demand another UK splitting referendum and Orkney and Shetlands fate will be to remain with Scotland within the EU, I would not expect any democratic choice for Orkney and Shetland with SNP representatives as they ruled out us having a say on choosing whether to stay with Rump UK the last time around On the other hand with Carbuncle as a pro unionist I would think our democratic choices would be better. Now I know this is a very distant set of hypothetical potentials for the future and I know the mainstream media machine have already started mind drubbing the masses into believing that E.U. membership is essential for our very existence. But ask yourself this - Do you know who your MEP is or anything about how the EU politburo actually works? The establishment prefers not to openly educate us on this as it is the undemocratic gravy train for political failures, just look at Niell kinnock , failed to become a democratically voted in primeminister and then got parachuted in as an EU commisioner by the next labour government and walked away into retirement stinking rich.... He is just one of many I do not expect a fair and balanced view on the pro's and con's of EU membership , expect a dirty skewed campaign which will make Alistair Carbuncle look like a NUN !!
  19. @ Just Me For recall of MP's there is a party who have it as a key part of policy:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_Independence_Party "Democracy and the constitution UKIP would overcome what it claims to be the "unfairness" of MPs from devolved nations voting on English-only issues. UKIP supports the recall of MPs, if 20% of the electorate in a constituency sign a recall petition within eight weeks. A Citizens' Initiative would be introduced to allow the public to initiate national referenda on issues of major public interest.[83]"
  20. It was interesting to see Salmond the slug trying to slime his way out of questions regarding his proven record a a liar on Andrew Neil's " This Week" last night http://news.stv.tv/politics/196346-government-took-no-specific-legal-advice-on-scotland-joining-eu/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b05x80zm/this-week-28052015 He fairly came with the bull turd last night but he was clearly squirming . On another note , Douglas Carswell is apparently a dab hand at making jam and is also known to wander around westminster with some very fine root vegetables , which were grown by his own hand. He is indeed a top bloke
  21. Distortio , I think you would find a many other things you could agree with Douglas on if your mind was not so narrowed by the particular blend of political / ideological dogma from which you suffer. You also have to remember if Carmichael had the same level of integrity as Carswell this silly memo leak would never have happened in the first place Similarly I don't think you got what was at the very heart of my story about Tavish and our grass goots vote held in the fishermans missiion. He betrayed betrayed us and voted against our wishes , yet works under the banner " Liberal Democrat" The Scottish government then lost that vote but also went against the democratic mandate of the parliament. That was the day I first witnessed the democratic process being swept away and the point I am making is Tavish , the Scottish Parliament , Carbuncle & Westminster , they all become irrellevant cogs of the E.U. machine whenever they decree it is so. So you can go ahead and dump Carbuncle and replace him with an SNP Euro stooge , democracy will not have been improved in the slightest..............
  22. Fair enough Distortio, I really should want Carmichael to resign as well as his falsely called Liberal Democrat party and Tavish our MSP has already openly betrayed the men of the Shetland fishing industry in 2001 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/1212389.stm We had a meeting at the Fishermans meeting prior to the scottish governments plans to decommision a large number of the white fish fleet. A show of hands from the meeting demonstrated to Tavish that we wanted him to vote in favour of a compensation scheme to maintain us through the period of ground closures rather than scrapping the fleet. He then went to Holyrood and voted directly against our wishes , following the party line as laid down by their masters in Brussels. Even though the government lost the vote , the democratic process was blatantly ignored and the scottish government followed the dictate from brussels http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/1209957.stm He only resigned from his cabinet position after this betrayal
