Probably means that your brain is more tuned to using the right-half (of the brain) for doing that tasks, making you left-handed while you do them. Doesn't mean that you are left-handed though. Were you 'persuaded' at school to use your right-hand when writing or drawing? Not as far as I can remember my brother is 18 months younger than me and he was never "persuaded" although my Uncle was but that was 50 odd years ago.

I'm right handed but can write left handed if I need to (learnt that after injuring right hand). Brother is left handed and finds difficulty sometimes with tin openers. Below is a little test to see how left or right-handed you are. It is unusual for someone to be completely left or right:- 1. Imagine the centre of your back is itching. Which hand do you scratch it with? Both 2. Interlock your fingers. Which thumb is uppermost? Left 3. Imagine you are applauding. Start clapping your hands. Which hand is uppermost? Left 4. Wink at and imaginary friend straight in front of you. Which eye does the winking? Left 5. Put your hands behind your back, one holding the other. Which hand is doing the holding? Left 6. Someone in front of you is shouting but you cannot hear the words. Cup your ear to hear better. Which ear do you cup? Left 7. Count to three on your fingers, using the forefinger of the other hand. Which forefinger do you use? Left 8. Tilt your head to one shoulder. Which shoulder does it touch? Left 9. Fixate a small distant object with your eyes and point directly at it with your forefinger. Now close one eye. Now change eyes. Which eye was open when the fingertip remained in line with the small object? (when the other eye, the non-dominant one, is open and the dominant eye is closed, the finger will appear to move to one side of the object.) Can't do this one as partially blind in left eye 10. Fold your arms. Which forearm is uppermost? Left Does this mean I should be left handed?

I had that at my old work no-one filled it in if it was work related. I really don't think putting that in helps at all. Ihave to admit to going into work with colds and viruses but I'm usually the only person at work as the rest are at appointments so I try not to be off ill unless it's really bad.

North Ness Petrol Tank & Future Development Potential
tarotangel replied to jeemsie's topic in Shetland News
I think that this might true although I'll ask Mr TA when I get back tonight as he's a firefighter. They have to be absolutely sure that all tanks are cool and there is minimal risk to the public. -
Unfortunately being doon here I missed it but I remember there was a tremour when I was younger probably about 7 and Mam said that there have always been tremours but never huge ones in Shetland. I've never felt another one since then.

Well I was 29 on Boxing Day. My man is 5 years older than me but has tendencies to act 10 years younger than me does that count?
-
Good grief we were boring in comparison. We weren't sure if Mr TA was going to be working the next day as he was on call so we went to bed afore the bells and watched the telly. Parents and brother called at 12:15 they were enjoying themselves. Spoke to them today and they won to bed at 7am. I'm a bad child for going to bed early

Boris Johnson on Have I got news...
tarotangel replied to Sudden Stop's topic in TV, Film, Arts and Literature
Mr TA and I were in stitches on Friday watching it it was brilliant always is when Boris is on it. Did anyone see the tackle at the England legends game? -
Looks similar to what I do so should be ok. I get reestit mutton posted doon for part of my christmas pressie and have fond memories of taking large pot of tattie soup and the reestit mutton through Edinburgh for the Millenium party I went to after that there it was a mainstay at whatever Hogmanay party I was hosting or went to.

I thought Izzy was dying but she's pregnant or is she pregnant and dying? I've obviously missed crucial episodes.
-
Yeah we watched some of it Mr TA was dayshift the day. It was a bit disspointing that the Harrison/Williams fight didn't last that long. Did you see Audleys interview after looked into the camera most of the way through Jim Rosenthal did say "nice of you to look me in the eye". Didn't see the Khan fight though been impressed with him so far. Scott Harrison; I was quite glad that he didna fight last night I think it would have been an even bigger disaster for him. I'm getting quite a fan of Enzo Maccarinelli, Welsh guy, has anyone seen his fights?

Wheeeeeeeee! (**Drunk Zone!** )
tarotangel replied to mutopian's topic in Anything & Everything Else
Well at least no one did the old shaving the one eyebrow off routine, Ally. Recovering from yesterdays Xmas do - not the most exciting. We went to the Champany Chop and Ale house just outside Linlithgow. Throughout the week all of our partners couldn't make it for one reason or another then yesterday one of my bosses had an emergency so he couldn't make it. Ended up a "girls what lunch" type affair with just 4 of us. After lunch decided to go back to one of the lasses house who has a bar in it so much loud music and drinking which ended tamely at 10:15 was good fun although I wasn't allowed to put the metal or folky music on booo! -
Hmm that's what I thought but they still have a Daft Raft Race at South Queensferry every year. Just wondering if there was anything else.
-
We could club together and hire some sharks for the day. Bressa eens!
-
Thoughts that floated across my mind while reading the Saga of the Bressa bridge thread. I'm wondering if someone can help me. What happened to the Daft Raft Race that used to be held in the Summer in Lerwick? I'm not too sure why it stopped. Thanks

Rant Alert Good grief its lik watching a couple o bairns in the playground. I'm just waiting for the "I'm going to tell my faither on you" bit There's a huge part of me wants to head home get the pair o them by the lug and bang their heads together. Although I am against bridge/tunnel that money could have been put to good use on the bridge/tunnel instead of it been wasted on what is essentially nothing. The pair of them are more interested in petty arguments rather than getting something sorted out properly.

Climate Change & Global Warming
tarotangel replied to Atomic's topic in National & International News
I try to do my bit as much as possible with the thr "r's" reduce, recycle, reuse. The three r's concept isn't really a new thing it wasn't a terrible long while ago that it was always done, then it was called make do and mend, folk just couldn't afford to buy new things. Having been brought up with it although in the '80's it was spend, spend, spend and I got teased about it in school. The problem is that there is so many different arguments casted about by scientists either saying that the end of the world is nigh or that there is nothing to worry about. I think that everything we do has consequences for everyone else. The global warming weather changes is that just down to us or are we just coming out of an ice age? I do think that putting lots of chemicals out into the ether isn't a good thing either, I mean if you're not allowed to touch some of these chemicals because it's bad for you why is it good to pollute the atmosphere with them? -
Hmm now you say that wonder if they are related.........?

Crowley... where do I start. Good grief! Personally I think the man had a puffed up sense of his own importance, loved publicity especially all the controversial stuff. Wasn't above putting out misinformation about himself to get it either.
