One of the best German films of the 90s (indeed one of the best films of the 90s anywhere) was "Lola Rennt" (released as "Run Lola Run" in UK). It featured Franke Potente running across Berlin three times trying to source a pile of money in 20 mins to save her boyfriend from being killed. When you are familiar with Berlin, the sequence of locations she runs past are quite bizarre. Completely "wrong" from a tourism point of view. She'll round a corner and suddenly be on the other side of the city. Does it matter to the plot or dramatic intensity? Not a bit. The film works wonderfully, and "accuracy" would not improve it at all.

using agencies to avoid there responsibilities is immoral and a shameful practice. If a boat is doing so then the community funds should not be offered to them and the quota that we have banked should not be allowed to be hired or whatever it is for those boats.  

Yes they should get the loan but the clause should be no cheap labour employed from the phillipines ! The greed in this industry is shocking !

You could be right, though a GAT gun is not rifled as rifled as far as I can remember. There are other images and tales of eye injury. Not every incident of being shot via an airweapon is reported, I would think perhaps only those that were of some concern.
 
As for my comment about shooting in the back garden and highways, it is the gun users responsibility as well to ensure that pellets do not leave the boundary of the garden, shooting at tins and bottles could cause that to happen, where as paper targets and a sand or other energy absorbent material should be on 3 sides of the target.

Not producing a license on the purchase of an air weapon is folly. If this law is to be in place, and as you say, there is little you can do because it is only done because those in charge can do it, then the best has to be gotten from it.
 
Reading some of the replies to the consultation, there is, as expected a mixed bag of replies, though, I have, so far found more against than in favour, but several have said if there is to be further regulation, as the ability to do so has been handed down by the Queen, then it must be measurable.
 
Several were very good in giving plausible reasons to amend, this in turn could make the new Act difficult to put in place. That is a sensible approach, especially if what is mentioned here it to be taken as the true motives.

I feel that there should be more done to limit uses of air weapons and their distribution, in the same way as I think local authorities should license paper shops who employ youngsters to deliver papers on bikes that are not road legal.

If you take time to watch and follow Acts as they are evolved, generally, those instigating the Act will say put in 10 measures they want, however, secretly, there may be 5 they will be happy with. The bus service is there for anyone to use, some folk may not own a car and can afford to do so. Even though your vehicle may have the same engine as a Transit is no reason to act like a white van man.

No comment though on the rest of my post though, yet you post it all. If the greater good of Scotland is the Yes vote and a new currency, then it surely should be done, in the same way as if the greater good of Scotland is the Yes vote and the currency in use is retained, then it should be done.
 
The UK Gov have taken Scotland for a ride, it is only the EU that really helps in a social way. Perhaps a Yes vote will sort this out. The UK Gov will let Scotland keep the pound, it is in their interest. The whole currency thing is in the mix by the UK Gov to muddy the waters, that is all.
 
I have to take some of your comments about your business with the knowledge you refused to support other local "cottage" industries. I do not think you really care for the other industries but just your own, which is fine, as long as you remain open about it.

Still, folk should support their local suppliers, we sadly too often compare them to the nationals or multinationals, their service is totally different and can be quite unique.
 
I will miss the Globe though, it is very sad to see these closures.

Not really, your description takes international trade back decades. Folk work in different places all over the world and not in the country the company is based in. The point is you claimed that folk will not want the hassle etc., yet this hassle goes on already. I would guess it is you perhaps and not all. There are already problems with retailers here in the South and accepting money that is so obviously not English.
I did not think the Unionist Party stretched to Scotland, alas, perhaps I am wrong.
 
If the split happens, folk will have to decide if the pound is not adopted, personally, I think it will be, it will not be removed because the rest of the UK need the input from Scotland, they too would have to pay the exchange rates.
 
I do worry about the oil bit though, Scotland would have to borrow a bit to start a similar fund as Norway has, unlike the UK at present, it needs to keep as much of the oil revenue as possible. This will keep inflation down.
 
As these jobs you fear for, by their very nature are mobile, or they are transient, there will be the option to move to an area that could offer better economic outlooks. If there is a yes vote.
 
The higher taxes that Norway has may also save some of the country too if it splits, though, it would too need to be invested in future gains. There is a worry now that the UK GOV have under invested in NSO and it has reached Peak.
 
Oh, any country would not want to trade with another if costs are too high, there is no suggestion that they will.
 
Reading posts on other forum, there are more in favour of a split than not, which is interesting. There is at the same time, a similar number in favour of the Scottish Pound.

I've had this idea for a while now# To have one large shop that stocks everything that Shetlanders produce# Be it food, drink, crafts and anything else made locally# 
 
I like to buy local as much as possible but find it really hard to find all the products available because they are scattered around so many shops# Now I know that supporting the local ecconomy is not everyones first priority but surely if it was easier more people would buy more local produce instead of seeing our wealth dissapearing out the Sooth Mooth#

If you  could go to the One Stop Shetland Shop and pick up half your weekly shop there instead of buying from Tesco, would you?
 
I would like to see all the busses swinging by it so those who do not drive could make use of the shop as well# I would like to see it filled with tourists every summer, spending more because they get to see EVERYTHING we have to offer#  Not just keeping our money here but adding to it#

I am happy for opinions to be aired, if you are going straight for the personality rather than the comment, then it will be met with similar retort. The idea about debate is to air ones views for others to evaluate and allow them to air theirs, this is something I have not stopped you doing, hense you only responce is to attack the person.

I did not say you asked for an idiot proof report, if you read what I posted, then you will see that I mention the report has to be understandable to all, there fore, idiot proof. Of course you need an extensive report which covers all the risks and senarios, unless of course you want to based the whole thing on the ability to own an air rifle. You will never get that though, so while you either hold out for some independent study paid for by? it will be difficult to educate the masses, what you also have to do is make it palatable and in a format that all can understand, you will be surprised by the numbers of folk who may find understanding this, or even able to then use that knowledge to over ride what they have already been told.
 
So, the reality is, hold out for your ideal scenario or push the issue so there has to be concise and proper studies done which by their very nature will take years as the hype of the situation will have to be teased out from the real truths. The push will only be done by a yes vote.

I feel that if there is a Yes vote, the Gov  will capitulate with regards to the currency, it would be in the best interests of all. The reasonings behind the no to sharing the pound is to sway a no vote.
