Yesterday I would definitely get to speak to my Dr today if I called. Ha ha. Called again this morning at 8.30 to be told he was duty doc so couldn't talk to him. I later got a call from a certain lady Dr who obviously hadn't and couldn't be bothered to read my notes, contradicted everything my own Gp had been doing and told me to stop wasting her time. There has been a lack of continuity of care for years now and every Dr you see usually goes against the previous ones decision. And as for the written complaint process, been there, got the t shirt. It's as big a joke as the rest of the service.

Mareel building's a handy location for new school. Wonder how many class rooms they could cram in to it?

Its a shambles and disgrace. Anyone that has good experience trying to speak to a doctor is very lucky indeed. Receptionists having to know things that should be confidential between patient and doctor before they fob you off for another day because they are too busy. "Call back at 0830 tomorrow and you'll definitely get to speak to a doc", only to be told next day that "appointments all gone by 0827". 2 weeks have passed since a specific Dr requested to see me and though have phoned daily have yet to get past the first hurdle.

A fixed link should have been put through Yell sound to begin with, before the new ferries and empire building began. A fixed link in Yell sound would serve 3 islands to the mainland and is the busiest of all the routes. Perhaps they could relook at that option and redeploy the large ferries else where.

The good old human. You can get assaulted, murdered, raped, discriminated against, befriended for ulterior motives and stabbed in the back. Lots of genuinely friendly folks about though. On a dark night, somwhere unfamiliar i think i'd prefer to meet a dog.

I think once the council has supplied the correct recepticals for litter they may justify their policing. If you walk along the shopping areas of Glasgow you see that there are plenty of bins and they all have a large ash tray specially built into the top to stop fires.

No more than providing a road, street lighting or pavements in Lerwick I would think. Ferries. The SIC gets EU funding for each ferry they operate.

Given that the last CE was constantly off on garden leave, I question if the post really needs to be filled. Perhaps a bit of internal restructuring of the councils hierarchy would suffice?

It usually does. But if my savings are just going to go on care when I'm old when the next person is going to get it for nothing, what incentive is there for me to save? I may as well just blow it now, live off the state or make sure I don't get to the stage of needing care.

We have 3 pensioners who move into a care home. One pensioner has scrimped and saved all their meager life, just so that they can leave something to their family or loved ones when they have gone. Another, spent every penny they earned through their working life, while never being hard up, they never saved anything while living the highlife. They retired with an empty bank account and not much to their name. The last could never be bothered to work, sponged off the taxpayer all their life. These are just examples, make up any scenarios you choose to. But I fail to see why one of these people should be penalised and pay any more on care than the lowest denominater.

Funnily enough, I hear that the boat is indeed going on the market.

Mail in Lerwick now delivered just once per day, and a day late too boot. Apparently been complaints from people that they do not like opening their doors in the dark so the post office is now only delivering in the daylight hours. (*** Mod _ merged ***)

I imagine the town hall x-mass party is going to be a real blast this year, I wanna go. Maybe the bbc should use it to start a new sitcom. Then again only channel 4 would probably get away with airing it, after the 9 oclock watershed that is.

Or we could paint and shoot the sad people who can't be bothered to look where there going and have nothing better to to than grumble about something which dogs have been doing for longer than the human has been on the planet. No one on here has been complaining about human turds and i've been craping all over the place for years, including down golf holes.
