Agreed. Certainly in the sense of Clives, I have never bought a CD or DVD from Tesco. I think I used to when Somerfield was here. I'm an amazon user. We all - even business owners - want the best prices to make the most money. It's just a shame that the government taxes business like they do, artificially inflating the prices.

I can't believe that Davie is having to defend everything that's gone on. We're getting a multi-million selling Brit-award winning Grammy-nominated band up in Shetland and all people can do is complain? Seriously, it's disappointing. Davie's keeping music live in Shetland, he deserves our praise.

AT, a majority can mean 51% against 49% or 99% against 1%. We're never going to get everyone in Shetland to turn out to vote against or for Viking Energy, but you, nor can anyone, say that any poll currently represents the views of Shetlanders. 36% support it according to the Shetland Times, 33% against, 31% unsure. I am not comfortable with 36% of people deciding on something as major as this. VE need to do more to convince people that the project is worthwhile if they want to get more support, simple as that. All that the Times poll shows is that there has been a change since last year.

I'm curious if any one of our regular moaners on the forum have actually tried to contact their local representative and meet them to discuss their gripes? Maybe this would help to convey your message across and I imagine as your representatives they are probably legally obliged to engage with you in some form. If you can't resolve your issue at all when speaking to them at least you can be happy to know that they have spoken to you and that they're not just sitting up in some imaginary ivory tower. They're just people at the end of the day. Write to them, write to the Community Councils too!
