  1. In the past I have taxed an isles car at Lerwick Post Office, I just printed out the DVLA exemption form and handed it to the clerk (who happened to be from Fetlar by chance)
  2. Hired Renault low floor 'Luton' from Star, they seemed helpful and didn't say anything about the state of the van afterwards!
  3. Far too much! My opinion is they are a rip-off, very cursury look over the property, then back to the office to fill in the blanks in the Home Report templates, £600 please! P.S. you'll be hard pushed to take action over any inaccuracies discovered in the report further down the line, check the terms and conditions practically nothing in the report is stood over. I note sooth you can get drive-by Home Reports for a quarter of the price
  4. I lived in Shetland for 4 years, in which time I had about 4 windscreen chips! Prior to living in Shetland I had been driving for 25 years with 0 windscreen chips! I don't think mixing grit with salt in the winter helps with the windscreen chip problem! Still miss the place though!
  5. try googling consumeractiongroup
  6. The Post Office do Moneygram transfers, a good alternative.
  7. The old decriminalisation/legalisation conundrum! Obama on marijauna - (***Mod Edit - Youtubified link***)
  8. Don't leave the bathroom door open, the humid air may be coming from other parts of the house and settling on the colder surfaces (such as the window) in the bathroom. Keep the door closed but allow the window to remain open a little to ventilate the room until you get an extractor...
  9. Good news, restores my faith in democracy. A very well deserved result, considering all the hard work involved putting the festival on..
  10. Unfortunately it's not allowing me to run a windows repair installation as it is now showing HTLDR is missing. I formatted the HD and was hoping to re-install windows from an XP CD.
  11. We take our 4 children to the Raba Indian restaurant, they enjoy the omelette and chips etc.
  12. Thanks for that, it ended developing into the system files not loading either. I was fortunate that I was able to run chkdsk from another computer when the drive was in the caddy so all the precious files are saved on another disc. chkdsk replaced invalid security keys with default ones on what seemed like all the files on the HD. Still leaves me with a laptop that will not now boot-up though, but it could have been worse as it was the wife's laptop and it was full of her cherished files, Lesson learned again regarding backing up files before problems occur!
