  1. I phoned the number you suggested Muckle Joannie and they are sending a filter. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
  2. Two of our TVs use Freeview. One has built-in and the other has a box. Neither of them will retune. I would phone someone and tell them off but I don't know who to phone.
  3. I suggested to hubby that they forgot to switch it back on
  4. You are not alone. We have done the same. Tried twice to retune and nothing doing. It's a pain !!!!!
  5. Our rubbish is usually collected on a Thursday too but was collected today so maybe it was legitimate. There was a notice in the Shetland Times stating when the trucks would collect over the festive period.
  6. I am really sorry Colonel. I mistakenly thought 'Newbie' was your username. Silly me!!!
  7. Hi Newbie We buy 'wood briquettes' from Jewsons. They cost about £3.70 for a pack of 6. They will easily take a bulk order and would probably deliver, depending on where you live....I guess. We find they are very economic as they give out an excellent heat and last for ages.
  8. Vodafone is off in Scalloway again too. I hope the engineer is still up here to sort it
  9. Still no Vodafone in Scalloway today . Our son is with O2 and he has a network?????
  10. If you are planning to set off on a trip, please take care. We have been to Lerwick and back (from Scalloway) and the roads are not great!! There was a truck stuck up past Sutherlands Brae near the Old North Road junction. Checked for activity at the Scord but no sign of gritters getting ready for action. Please be careful
  11. I think if you look again you will see that there is a bus from Lerwick at 1710 which gets you to Brae for 1750.
  12. The current exhibition at 'Da Gadderie' in Lerwick features two artists who are Shetland residents, Sam Davies and Peter Biehl. This exhibition finishes this SUNDAY (12TH MAY) If you haven't been or can't get to see it both artists have websites where you can see examples of their work. Sam's exhibition is entitled 'No Explanation Necessary' and you can find his paintings at http:\\sam-d-art.blogspot.com Peter's exhibition is entitled 'Moments in Nature' and you can find examples of his work at www.peterbiehl.com If you can make it to the exhibition I don't think you'll be disappointed. Remember there are only days left.
