Customers can't get parked any where near the shops due to the shopkeepers taking every available parking space for themselves. Before you start, not all disabilities are visual, some people are not able to walk up and down lanes from/to car parks. I personally wont be using the shops on the street due to the calming measures. I shudder to think what the bumps are doing to low floored busses let alone peoples cars.

We had noise problems with the rock boat when it was in at Dales Voe. Environmental Health said they had a noise meter that could be installed in the house. Unfortunately by the time they came with it the boat had gone.

The Pensioners fought tooth and nail to keep the centre open with no help from Joe Public. It wasn't Just a lunch club it was their social club it was open from 9am - 3pm for them to drop in. When the Pensioners rest room was closed a lot who attended there came to Freefield for the company and a cup of tea/coffee.

The Freefield had clients from Unst to Sumburgh. Granted they made their own way there. Most of them using buses that stopped outside the centre.

The Pensioners applied a builder to do a survey before they were turfed out. It was only the front windows that needed fixed/replaced. The said builder offered to maintain the building free for a year but was turned down. The saving by closing the building was to be £80,000. The SIC are only saving £40,000 as the other £40,000 is being used to keep the Pensioners at Islesburgh.

Paulb BP gave the money to the pensioners who in turn gave it to SIC to buy the building for them.The rent was paid on the ground the building stood on.

Colin the building wasn't sold it was given to Buildbase.

Buildbase owned the site Freefield sat on. The council payed a yearly rent on it. Freefield was handed to Buildbase free. BP gave the money to the Shetland pensioners to buy the building to use as a Social and Lunch club.

We have one. Its an air flow one but we can't close door as it burns up fast, anything we put in it. Maybe its because we are on top of a hill.
