  1. Many thanks for this thread . I have just ordered a sofa from very.co £8.95 delivery brilliant !
  2. Thanks, I've purchased a few apps on my phone which speak the words out which is great for picking up the proper way to say things but thought a night class would cover the more boring bits (sentence construction etc)! I've mastered the days of the week, months, numbers and colours! But not sure how much use that would be! Also I think I'll find the phrase "Non parlo bene I'tiliano" useful!
  3. I've recently decided I'd like to learn Italian and then sometime in the next few years visit Italy for a few months. But I can't seem to find any night classes or short college courses on Italian in Shetland. Can anyone recommend anything I've missed. I know they teach it at the high school so hoped there would poosibly be a night class on it??
  4. I just wonder what information DC has on the other councillors for them to agree to such a payment! Find it funny how he has kept quiet.
  5. I had my first drink at 14. Looking back that was quite young but probably didn't get "drunk" until 15 or 16. Now I have my own barin I dread the thought of her drinking at that age. Parents are probably to blame for children getting hold of drink younger and younger! They shouldn't be letting their children out to places they can gain access to alcohol at that age. I think halls are now 16 and over which should help? When I was younger it was 14 and over. Once I was 16 I think we were going to pubs but thats a thing of the past with pubs being stricter which I agree with. But as I said before I think soon it will be easier for the age group of 14-17 year olds to get drugs instead of alcohol. Yes alcohol isn't good for them but drugs are a lot worse. I haven't heard of anyone in that age group die due to the effects of alcohol alone but I've heard of plenty due to drugs.
  6. Police, goverment etc are being too tough on underage drinkers, it will soon be easier to get drugs than it is to get alcohol. Not that I'm in agreement with underage drinking but I guess I did it and don't think it hurt me....
  7. Okay thats great thank you very much. The church one is near me so I was thinking about going there, I was told by someone its on tues and thurs? My daughter is nearly 6 months old and she loves other barins so it would be great. I go to the one in Whiteness and Weisdale hall most Monday mornings as my mum lives out there. But wasn't organised enough today!! That one is great lots of toys and loads of babies! Its 10am-12noon every monday.
  8. When i stayed in Aberdeen I got it from a little newspaper shop next door to Thains bakery on George street, its owned by the bakery so maybe can get it in there too? They usually just order it in every week for you if you like. And no extra fee which was good saved my mam posting it to me it usually was there friday noon or saturday am as it came from the boat.
  9. Been to college in scalloway a few times and always find it really good.
  10. Looking for a good mother & Toddler group? In Lerwick? Nearer end of week prefered? No idea where else to find out about when & where!!
  11. Every since seeing a burst sewer pipe outside the back door of the Raba and all the kitchen and waiting staff walking through it then back into the building I haven't eaten there!! Gurka Kitchen is amazing!! Chicken Passanda is great very mild but better than Korma!! Highly recommended! Also house white wine yum!!!
  12. My favourite is Dragon House! That crispy deep fried chicken in thai sweet and sour sauce is amazing!!! Very dissapointed with Golden Coach / Baroc! Usually not too bad for a sit down meal but take away is always crap!
