  4. Sorry had a stressful few days! Getting no where with AOL they have been messing around with my broadband in days but its still barely downloading 490kbps . I'm now going on the phone tomorrow to tell them to stick it , get my mac code and try join up with bt broadband. They estimate about 5megs for my area and this is very appealing. SO after much toil think if I actually can get that with BT then I'm MOVING!! This is all VERY stressful! Not a happy bunny.
  5. Weel Stilldellin I tink I bid no far fae whar do used tae stay?! Infact I tink I need tae say congrats tae de da day?! Had a text fae Mam tae say ur missus dropped her a msg we da great news. Whit does do tink I should do? Contact AOL and say whit? I should o spoken tae de whin do wis busy cutting da grass in me area! lol Anyway will wait tae hear de thoughts & say tae da missus wir delighted we da news!. Cheers enoo
  6. Well I'm on the Burravoe Exchange and as yet sausage all difference to my speed I am now wondering (as I am with AOL) SHOULD I contact AOL yet again? I've contacted them before and they said that the line could only manage 1meg!! SCREAM....Me is thinking AOL needs to upgrade their speed capacity with BT or something ? REALLY disappointed!
  7. Last week I purchased a £400 Olympus camera from The Camera Centre. I had already looked it up on the net and couldn't find it any cheaper. Tesco Direct had the identical camera available on their site for £88 more than The Camera Centre. Full marks to them for beating Tesco by such a huge amount. As they say, 'every little helps'!
  8. You're probably not paying for 8Mbps, but paying for *up to* 8Mbps. Your line may only be capable of 1Mbps. How far away from your local exchange are you? That has a major influence on your service. I'm about 4 - 4.5 miles from my exchange.
  9. Zero difference on the Burravoe exchange so far. Called BT today & they seemed baffled but said to wait a few more days. Also have contacted my ISP & I'm paying for 8Mgs but the line capabilities are showing to them as 1meg!!!I could scream as I fear it's not going to be as imagined at all No you tube viewing without all the stoppages I guess. So hope there is something that has been overlooked & with the flick of a switch....SPEED!
  10. As I said, I've always found The Camera Centre very helpful and yes, perhaps you are having a rant about your mishap as it was damaged so soonafter purchase. Initially you complained that the shop didn't pay for the phone to be repaired, but now you say you didn't like the assistant's attitude. It can't be easy telling someone that their carelessness has destroyed a brand new phone; however, if they were less than polite, a quiet word with the owner would have been a more adult way to improve a local retail outlet rather than simply boycotting local shops altogether.
  11. Ben Mullay has some great photos over at www.benmullay.com so would be worth contacting if you're still looking for a photographer? Check out his site and see what you think!
  12. If you've damaged the screens of two mobiles, it would suggest that you are not very careful with your phones! Did you think the shop should have paid for you being careless? Â If it is the shops obligation to pay for customer damage, which I don't think it is, contact Trading Standards. I have always found the Camera Centre extremely helpful.
  13. I'm not convinced that the quality of prints from Sooth is all that wonderful or certainly some of the ones I have seen arn't. I use the camera centre's online service and find it really handy. I like to keep business local and it's worrying to see so much of Shetland support going for business on the Mainland. Shetland needs our spending to keep up our economy and thus our jobs. Just my thoughts but I have always had a terrific friendly service from the Camera Centre and so helpful too, especially when you're not 'geared up' on all the technology!! So fine to be able to have the hands on help and happy to do business with them knowing my prints are going to be quality every time.
