its over a year since we heard anything any updates on opening last i heard was hoping yo open last christmas

what species is that for .? i do beachcasting and i have never seen so many (sillocks ) pollock or is it coley young ..cant touch the water without filling a flea (shetland word ?) if this is a good sign bring it on

It's going to be interesting to see just what happens when folk are expected to put their paper and say cardboard rubbish out in winter during a gale; I have visions of a quantity of it blowing away as they open the wheelie bin lid, given that you're not permitted to put any recycling rubbish into bags but instead, straight into the wheelie bins. Then there's the tiny matter of unclipping your wheelie bin and putting it 'out' (wherever 'out' might happen to be!) prior to 7.30am even if it isn't going to be collected until say noon or later that day. 'out' might well be at a location where it cannot be secured. So you end up with an insecure wheelie bin that might or might not blow over, it's lid might or might not blow open and before you know it, you've got paper and cardboard blowing all over the place. What are we meant to do, not go to work in order to keep a permanent eye (if your bungee cord hasn't blinded you, that is) on said wheelie bin between 7.30am and the collection time? i tried out the wheelie bin lid cord and almost got blinded when it snapped back and hit my head ...can see a compensation case in the near future

this is going to cost the council money like every hair brained scheme they come with ....i live at the end of a croft road ...i am an O A P with walking problems ..my wife is disabled ...are the council trucks going to come down my road for collection ...if not they will have to pay a home help to put bins to main road ....

i am a bit concerned about the recycling project ....if i make a mistake in putting things in the wrong bin am i going to be FINED for a simple mistake ...i am 77 years young and i have senior moments ...also will the bruck wagon come down my croft road to collect my bins ? i am not able to drag them up the steep hill ...the S I C and their blinkered wisdom has not thought the rural senario in the isles

the U S A is out of controll ...they are trying to rule the world but the homeland is going to hell ...untill they have a stable government instead of big business running the country they will be at loggerheads with anyone who does not fill their coffers

i read the whole series and enjoyed them ...some very serious thoughts beyond the satire to ponder on

yes Whalsay we will get our fishing grounds back but have you seen the small print where some countres will claim grandfather rights and london will agree to gain brownie points ...they no f a about fishing and care less

untill we get rid of the hanging angels we wil not have a free and independant vote in our Island affairs ...look at your history to see what happened to an Island

as long as a select club runs the S I C (Very apt name ) and cannot make money for their select secret society they will either ignore the obvious or prevericate on the outcome of any solution ...common sense cost them money and the public must pay their price

the biggest problem as far as i can see with the whitehouse isit was built by contractors whos heads belong to the goat club ...they want as much money as they can screw out of the project ...the sis membership are also mostly goat club members so us the gullible public will fill their banks ....we cant have a falling out of bretheren can we tut tut ..power rules

i am 76 years young living in a remote area so i will be contacting the S I C ...(very apt name ) to supply me with a home help to arrange my recycle meterial and move same to the end of my uphill croft track to the main road pick up point

when one of the isles are evacuated and empty capt calimity can declair his independent kingom under nordic rule

i have been riding bikes and for my sins reliant threewheelers (i like them by the way ) but i would like to try a bike combo ...tried one many years ago but felt unsafe as i could not lean on corners now with arthritis and lack of strength in the old 76 years young legs i am tempted to try again

i would be very careful with Tavish he is one of the Shetland higher echelons and may even be a member of a secret society which seems to be the required pass on the C V to work for the S I C ...apt name

we are slowly going back to ower da banks .....cars rotting in parks ...fish bruck rotting on piers !!!!...rubbish littering next we paper and plastic discarded without trace .....when the madness stops we may get an answer ....s i c very apt name

i live at the end of a rough croft track ...will the wheelie bin lorry come down the track to collect ....i am 76 years young and no way could i push the bins to collection at main road ...if i leave them at the main road the fishes will get the contents at the first strong wind unless the council builds a pound to hold them

the S I C ... Should think on their name SIC sick in thinking and action ..they were the reason for the demise of the street ...get someone with a real sense of judgement and prospect to plan the future for what could be a vibrant area

they have just killed the street shops .....i will never visit the street again ...on line or out of town now

just wondering if any-one has had dealings with r cars they are advertising on motoring classifieds

so ..you will be happy to pay ever increasing cost of transport to the Islands ...without a voice on the job the Lib Dems and their ilk will draw their salary an be a voice in the wilderness

What a bunch of grouching old crofters stuck in the past and following a colour that is hated ....you will suffer when maggie may brings down the axe ..the cost living will kill the islands
