  1. you'll will have heard of the saying

never ask a question you don't know the answer to

    this lawyer obviously hadn't

n a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'

She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a

youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'

    The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.

  2. hi just wondering what broadband suppliers every-one has?if they are as good/bad as bt

my contract with bt is up next month so i'm looking around at the different suppliers

the last 18 month i've been paying £8 you can compare the different prices but that doesn't help tell you what the service is like

  3. in the last few year there are less and less power cuts shetland storms carry a large amount of salt water in the air and everyone knows water and electricity do not mix but with salt added this exacerbates the problem the hydro boys do a heroic job repairing the power lines and i will depend on my generator without complaining otherwise you may end up paying for repairs

  4. phoned JRJ for a quote on an exhaust was phoned back with a quote of £250 plus vat and fitting

once on was charged nearly £500 exhaust cost £400 no word of an apology or explanation unfortunately hubby paid without complaining

at the very least we should have been warned of the price difference BEFORE it was fitted

    lost a regular customer

  5. i read to-day that GB already has one of the strictest gun laws in europe

no matter what if i get a gun to-day no-one can tell if i'm going to snap in a couple of months and use the gun on myself or others.the only way would be for a monthly (or even shorter time)trip to the doctors for him to check i'm not getting depressed/angry/suicidal and how practical would that be

  6. i don't think you can reduce the service

up here we have a skip that rotates every 2 weeks between hillswick, heylor and urafirth most times it is full to the brim within 3 or 4 days where is all the stuff to go?not every-one has transport to trail a mattress 40 miles and you can't take it on the bus

  7. i think you may be missing the point as most small crofters have a full time job and crofting is a hobby sideline something on the table call it what you will so wages dont really come into the equation for a lot of shetlanders it was a way of life and not easy to give up

I had a shop so I know all about business bank charges but what annoys me is the shops that charge even if you spend £100 IMO bank charges are a legitimate expense and should be factored into the profit margins

What shop charges you for spending that amount of money?

hillswick shop charges on all transactions and i think alex morrisons also

  9. talking to a customer to-day(fri) she tried to go on boat but was told NO ferry was full there was at least 4 wanting to travel
