when i came here in 89 voe made a lovely chicken pie easily identifiable as chicken.a few years ago they changed the filling to small cubes of processed chicken .at least they said it was chicken and it was quite salty i had one and no more unfortunately this is happening all over price v quality oh and i don't eat the pies from tesco either

hi switched off my lap-top and it came up do not switch off windows update 1 of 2 but over 1/2 hour later still saying that tried to switch off then back on same message the wee green light is still blinking away merrily would letting the battery drain or taking out battery get me back to normal?

went to my brothers GP practise in glasgow they take sample and send to hospital nurse couldn't find a vein(proverbial bllod from a stone)so she took it from one in between my pinkie and the next finger NEVER had so much pain and was black and blue up past my wrist won't be going back there in a hurry

i was in rhe scottish ambulance service in the late 70's and 80's i drove around glasgow for about an hour and told i was now a driver allowed to speed and use blue lights and sirens.we learned by the "seat of our pants" and very few accidents. they then brought in an advanced driver course based i think on the police course,result quite a few bad accidents occurred, all of them by the people who had done the course! I don't know why this was the case but i think experience is better than all the courses for example ambulance in snowy/icy conditions going down a long and steep hill blue lights etc. accident at the bottom driver hit breaks and skidded into a police car

the one thing that galls me is viking energy are not going to offer a discount to shetland for supplying them with free wind to make their millions shetlanders should stand up and oppose them unless they can gurantee we will get a lower rate of energy for a stated no of years and the planning rules should be changed to allow individuals to install a wind generator of 3 kw without planning permission and the greedy government cost of same so much for snp green energy

bit confused here the 2 shops beside me Ollaberry and Hillswick both are community owned sell the same stuff but one is exempt and one is tested(it passed) why the difference

i used to fly offshore in choppers and would still do the pilots are great and as with everything mechanical things go wrong the weather was on the side of the gods and the pilot was first class thank god everyone was ok with the amount of traffic in the north sea unfortunatly there will always accidents

shetlanders should be doubtfull historically about scottish gov reform i quote (greedy lairds and ministers comes to mind) we were robbed and trod on for many years my father told me stories about the old history of serf shetland where you landed the fish from the sixareen the laird took half the kirk minister took a quarter the local merchant took what he thought you owed them then if any fish was left you had to feed the family do you wonder why old natives are very suspicious of king alex and his cronies

if drew thinks he is so good he will not mind putting himself up to a vote and everyone else who thinks they can do the job should be subject to a vote process and let the people of shetland decide

it used to be propane but now with the world in the grip of a greed factor they may have changed but it would still burn ok as does the modern petrol ethanl mix we use in petrol engines except it destroyes old type seals and washers in some vehicles and tends to rot the tanks

buy a convertor nozzle and buy large cylinders of gas from paul at st magnus bay hotel or rearo and work out the tax due if you are totally honest not your fault there are no gas pumps in shetland

just had a phone call number withheld from santadar in lerwick!! asking if i had tried to make a payment on-line from my account to-day answered no and i didn't have an account with them he then asked who i banked with said i wasn't going to answer that next he asked was it bank of scotland at that point i said i wasn't going to answer that(i haven't got bos)and hung up the point is he spoke excellent english, had a very nice english accent but i did catch a hint of foreign in some of the words DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT

here up in the hillswick area we get 3 skips rotating between hillswick,heylor and urafirth on a 2 weekly cycle and every skip has a mattress put in it!! i recon every house in the area has a new mattress every year
