  1. My egg shop has re-opened. So, if you are passing Mid Walls (just before the Watsness junction) look out for my sign at the end of the track advertising FREE RANGE EGGS. From happy chickens too. Eggzactly, Eggcellent, Eggciting! Did I over-egg it?
  2. If I catch any, can I contact you? I usually dispose of them but there have been times when I wished I could re-home. I caught a very tame jill last year and would've loved to have found her a happy home. (Tbh, I did let her go once but she returned to my henhouse so that was that).
  3. Ah, but I am not complacent. I do not set up my dogs to fail ever. They are in situations where they are constantly looked after, where manners are expected and they are not allowed to have their comfort zone compromised. So, therefore I am always in control and they are comfortably happy in their secure environment, ie in their home or out and about with me.
  4. We all know our dogs and hopefully take responsibility for them. I am not going to get into an argument - in general terms you are, of course right. I go by the same measure that all folk are boobalubes until proven otherwise along with all cars indicating to the left at a t-junction must actually be shown to be turning left before I pull out. Dogs are getting a very bad press these days. It is sad because they have been our friends for thousands of years. They are now just seen as messy and bad-tempered rather than a working part of the family household who contributes in so many ways. Mine? I have two I wouldn't trust with children unsupervised and one that would rather gnaw his own leg off than bite anyone. The old cat once sniffed him while he was asleep, so he growled, realised what he had done and went into a decline for a week! Edited to add that this is a dog that can have multiple stitches in his face or body without a general anaesthetic. He is an old lurcher made of wet tissue paper that tears just getting out of bed. (this is still not an argument, though )
  5. There are dogs that would never bite. I have one and I know of 2 others. They wouldn't, couldn't bite. Just not in their nature. Kill rabbits, yes, bite a human, never.
  6. Been there, done that and the others - MPS, FPS, TPS - they still get through. I have just signed up to Opt Out too with Royal Mail. http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400126&mediaId=500081
  7. Absolutely. I am with Jane from DENVER. Obviously the OP is a troll!
  8. I quite fancy one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/TrueCall-The-Nuisance-Call-Blocker/dp/B002GP7HQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1271170262&sr=8-1
  9. Absolute rubbish. Some dogs have good manners.
  10. Is it me or does it feel more dusty? I think so.
  11. Yes, but not all of them are affected. It is a no-brainer tbh as if a horse leaves Iceland, it is never allowed to return. I have 4 and they are the nicest equines to work with. A real treat.
  12. Oh, God the poor horses. Bring them all to me. I wish they could. I would happily look after them all. The poor, poor horses.....it is too much.
  13. Aurora alert - Moderate chance they may dance tonight! http://www.gedds.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/
  14. Northlink were hugely helpful. I asked them if I could book leaving it to the last minute if I cancelled, in case the flight went after all, and they were great, saying that was no problem. I must've phoned them about 6 times to check various things as I was sending my teenagers down unaccompanied (first time) and they did their very best to reassure, help and offer advice. Full marks Northlink and thank you.
  15. Perfick - an email will go a-winging its way! Many thanks.
  16. Ta muchly. I will set aside a day in my diary and sit on the phone!
  17. Anyone know how you go about this? I can't get their link to work. I booked using the ADS scheme so do I go through ADS or through Logan Air or via Flybe? Thanks Frances
  18. Thank you MuckleJoanie for that info - I tried to Google Map but they just had the building site. This will be very useful.
  19. Many thanks for that. Mods, I do realise it is not actual News for you, but it is a rather important plea for help which is now relegated to the backwaters of "Travel" and will probably not be seen. Is there perhaps a chance it could be moved back to a section perhaps a bit more noticeable? Or, now here's a thought, what about an URGENT Section. These are trying times and it might be appropriate and useful for others, not just me.
  20. Please can someone tell me if you can walk through the new shopping centre (opposite the road that comes out from the ferry terminal) to the station or do you still have to go round via Market Street and turn left at Guild Street......? Also is anyone on the boat Monday night going to Aberdeen Rail Station in the morning who could just point some teenagers in the right direction? (***Mod Edit - Moved from 'Shetland News' to 'Travel' - Aberdeen Rail Station really doesn't have a terrible lot to do with Shetland News***)
  21. Poor, poor things. I hope they enjoyed their stay, though!
  22. I think it is a brilliant idea for those that want an allottment. Go for it and I wish you every success.
  23. They are in Walls today! hurrah! Link - http://www.sheltie.plus.com/Takeaway_9-6-09.html I love this website!
