The fact is Faroe got a massive increase in Mackerel quota to the deterement of the Scottish quota because they said the mackerel had increased in the Faroese waters, so what the hell are they doing over here. If the Shetland boats were fishing illegaly in Faroe you can be sure the fishery officers would be aboard them.

It would be good to think that Northlink would give a bit of leeway to anyone with a genuine reason for being late . They would in Lerwick. I've seen it happen. It only takes them 5 minutes to secure the walkway.

Living in the country I have been very surprised how many times I've used Mareel. I was never a keen cinema goer in my younger life, having stayed Sooth and in Lerwick, but I have now been several times with my wife to see films and really enjoyed the experience at Mareel. I know the bar as had it's faults but they are being worked on. The service on a normal night is very good and polite.The only problems have been large music gigs when the bar staff couldn't cope, this is being worked on by the management. As for the parking problem, there is none. I have parked at the museum when I couldn't get in Mareels car park and there are numerous car park within easy walking distance. The Mareel car park has more spaces than the North Star, Garrison and Islesburgh put together.

It's not a Shetland thing, this is part of Scottish house sale requirements, at least you don't get gazzumt like you do in England.

The whole thing is a huge embarrassment to Shetland and I'm sure there are places with more financial problems keeping the public toilets open. Shetland also has a very high percentage of people with Colitis and Chrones disease, where the use of a toilet can be a very urgent necessity.

We went to Florence a couple of years ago, it is certainly touristy but we were staying among the locals in an apartment, there was so much to see and do. There are direct flights from Edinburgh to Pisa and regular buses from Pisa airport to Florence.It is expensive though, be prepared.

The Shetland Classifieds page on Facebook says that you have to stay in Shetland to use it, it could be that you don't have enough proof on your page to verify this. It is obviously to avoid sales transaction problems that could occur from outwith Shetland.
