Thanks for all your posts and pm`s., and also the blog links. Had a good two hours reading the blogs and as is usual with the internet, got somewhat sidetracked by other Shetland links. A lot of you mention travel costs, I accept that in order to travel anywhere there will be some money involved at some point. What are the current rates for travel between the islands and Sheland, also between Shetland and the UK ( both with and without a car)?. Also I note that Peat metioned fuel was expensive - again how expensive? As a guide my local station is running at £1.15 per litre for unleaded. Childcare and associated bits are not required as I dont have any, well not that I`m aware of ... . Shoogler mentioned about the building industry on Fetlar, not sure just how busy they are, but being an electrical engineer I guess I am some use to someone, I can turn my hand to almost anything , so any work would be seriously considered. I have had a few pm`s stating that your local councils are having to make huge cutbacks for the coming year, and will cause some disruption to work and housing amost other things. This is happening here as well, I guess a lot of councils overspent during the boom years and now is the time to close the purse strings. As Peat has already metioned there are a lot of issues that are arising from these posts that we have on the mainland here as well - the dentist one for example is another classic for the way the NHS is run, or rather not run. I am calling at the estate agents on Monday and find out what feedback they have had so far, lots have viewed , had some silly offers as you do.... Might have to swap agents if I dont get any joy. Thanks all for your comments and please keep them coming. Regards Rich
