  1. Let them come .... oh let them in poor souls...give them houses, the vote and pay for their breeding program ... but be aware we in this country will reap what we sow and the harvest will shock us all. SIOE
  2. As long as you are ok the rest of us are bad planners.....get a grip. The case still remains that the supermarket managers are not stock managing.........i would go so far as to say they are a disgrace to retail management. Sal
  3. It has to be said that both supermarkets displayed a terrible lack of stock and order control over the Xmas season..( nothing new to the rest of the year, maybe the Area Managers need sacked for being so slack ). Tesco has had control of it's new store in Lerwick long enough to get the bread stock/order situation sorted.... but no for a store to be repeatedly out of stock at 3 pm in the afternoon when open until 10 pm is a disgrace. Time for Store Manager change i feel. http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/5381/everylittlehelpsid0.jpg Sal (***Mod Edit - Merged with the existing Supermarket thread. No need to start a new thread every time an issue about supermarkets comes up.***)

  5. ...and "good" Christian missionaries haven't spread their beliefs around the globe? My point..... man has spread his beliefs for his own gain. Jesus preached love and understanding. Mohammed preach hate and retribution.

  7. Islam has made the world its battleground and mankind its enemy. “The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time [of judgment] will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews and kill them; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!†Sahih Muslim book 41, no. 6985 Hamas Charter which says: “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it†Ahmadinejad “The accomplishment of a world without America and Israel is both possible and feasible.†Hezbollah and its leader Hassan Nasrallah “The Jews are a cancer which is liable to spread again at any moment.†“There is no solution to the conflict except with the disappearance of Israel.†“If they all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide.†To a Muslim the Ummah the uniting brotherhood of all Muslims gives them a single cause, a cause that teaches that you the infidel are no part of their world. They are one the common brotherhood and you are one the common enemy! You are an Infidel, you are an enemy of Islam you have no choice in the matter. Remember Beslan.
  8. The majority of Muslims are afraid to speak out against the extreme hardcore followers of mohammed fact.... how many members of the east london mosque reported the goings on within there place of worship... silence is agreement.
  9. They take divine pleasure in killing Jews and Christians. We have welcomed them into our country and allowed them to practice there faith here. What thanks do we get for being so understanding and liberal...hated from within. Apply to build a Christian Church in Pakistan....no chance. The Muslim faith is a cancer within our country.
  10. Oh such short memories.....years ago the Co-op had no competition in Shetland and they offered a below par service compared to the Co-op operation on the mainland, BOGOF only appeared in the Shetland Co-op store after the introduction of a mainland competitor to the isles. Now a well established company has opened in Shetland offering this island the same benefits offered to it's mainland customers....reasonably priced white goods will come...reasonably priced clothing will come and also fair priced petrol/diesel will come. The dawn off fair trading in Shetland has arrived...no more will we hear the cry "It costs more because of the freight" Rip-off Shetland is no more, for sure. Sal
  11. http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/3373/20081122230999198480305rq2.jpg Andrew Dismore, the Labour chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, told The Sunday Times he would ask the committee to investigate whether British intelligence services had been consulted about the attack. "This is a very serious matter, particularly if the attack was based on intelligence provided by the British security agencies. We can investigate whether British security services had involvement in providing intelligence concerning British nationals in Pakistan. I anticipate this is a matter the committee might like to follow up," he said. "If there is any suggestion of complicity of the UK security services in this particular incident then that is certainly something we would want to take into account in our work on this subject." Speaking to the paper, Patrick Mercer, the Tory MP for Newark and former shadow security minister, said: "This raises the question of how much co-operation the British intelligence agencies provided in what is ultimately the execution of a British subject. The government must explain its involvement and its future policy in this area." Meanwhile, it emerged that members of Rauf's family were "in the dark" about his fate and were making desperate attempts to establish whether he was still alive. What a load of tosh....Patrick Mercer should be imprisoned for blinkered stupidity and Rauf's family deported for endorsing his actions. Sal
  12. Shetland appears to have tried to design out the real functionality of a Roundabout... Point one... There are always two lanes around a roundabout (unless a small innercity one way junction) Tesco roundabout drivers are forced into a one lane circulation which leaves a.... can i or can't i?. should i or should i not?.... as when to enter the roundabout for a smooth flow of traffic. Point two... Sound....red brick inner circle...WHY??? how does it help traffic flow?
  13. Ha Ha the old fella still has a feather up his harris.
  14. I have a beef about the Shetland TESCO operation....stock and order control appears to be as bad as it was under the Somerfield flag.... case in point... Why is Warburtons bread the first to go off sale every day week in week out? If the Grocery Manager records that the product is off sale at a given point in the trading day and Hovis and Tesco brand bread is still sitting on the shelves...for goodness sake use a bit of savvy and adjust future orders to extend the sale life of an off sale product! ps. i don't have shares in Warburtons bakery i just think it is the best bread on a supermarket shelf. Sal
  15. Rizzo i agree with you about the COOP, i think they have done a really great job without closing the store during referbishment. 10/10
  16. I agree with that. I know we're supposed to give service with a smile, but I used to work at Tesco when it was Somerfield, and sometimes you got worn down to the point where you couldn't help but not want to be there, and not smile. People used to tell me to cheer up and I actually wanted to smack them in the mouth. I know that sounds harsh but the person on the checkout might be having a hard time in their personal life, or could've had other customers who've looked down their noses at them and treated them like poop, and telling them to cheer up will not help in the slightest. I will add, though, that while staff are supposed to be nice to you, you should also be nice to them. You only get what you give. Never ever feel undervalued sassermaet...if you work in a public service industry you have to follow certain rules if the public you deal with are less than respectful...you are the better person not them. Sal
  17. If Shetland requested that TESCO incorporate a petrol outlet at their Lerwick store the picture would be complete...we would be as a mainland county and "THE FREIGHT" would wane away as an excuse to profit from island life for local smalltime profiteers. [mod]-tag subbed for
  18. It goes without saying this jerk has got of to lightly.....but helped to a leaner sentence by an organisation finding him a job in a local fish factory and accomadation in Lerwick prior to his court appearance so it can be stated "The poor lad is trying to get his life in order, is now in full time employment and it's feared a custodial sentence will jepordize his efforts to go straight." Is he still working at the fish factory after the Sheriff had been hoodwinked with the above story line......No Is he laughing at us all.......Yes If that had been my child he fired that gun at i would without hesitation break both of his legs.....then he would have a real medical condition we could all feel sorry for. Sal
  19. I have never preached....i don't know how to,....i try to say it as it is........you guys work it out
  20. The coming of Tesco to Shetland hath made a very big difference to the trading position of the local CooP.... the upgraded cabinets are very nice and the store layout is an improvement except for ........ the Xmas crush trying to funnel hundreds of customers through 8 tills, maybe i'm a wee bit premature in my judgment of the update but i fear a bottle neck. Why also doe's the coop still use such a slow Debit/Credit card connection for it's customers at the checkout, you have to wait ages for completion of a transaction ...unlike TESCO instant responce terminals. Luv you too Auld Fella
