I'm reliably informed by an irate neighbour that today's power cut is the 17th so far this year in Sumburgh! It's only August, so doesn't bode well with the Winter approaching!

I think this sounds like a great idea, especially if it were open on a Wednesday when I've witnessed the pitifull sight of drookit cruise ship passengers wandering aimlessly round Lerwick! From a technical point I don't know if this could be accommodated but hypothetically it gets the thumbs up from me! Good luck with your studies-

Had some visitors up last week and went here for lunch- hadn't been there for years. It was kinda drab then and I can't say my opinions changed too much. My Dad had soup of the day and I have never seen soup like it! It was devoid of moisture and so thick his spoon could actually stand upright in it - took a photo to capture the moment! Having said that, rest of the meals were passable, but can't say I'll be rushing back!

I have Setanta sports and in view of the fact they will no longer be showing the SPl football I would like to cancel. Message on Setanta TV advises to contact a phone which apologises for ceasing trading and advises you to go to www.setanta.com/uk. Same message at this site - no further info on how to cancel. No other contact info. Anyone else encountered this? Best way to proceed?

Yesterday morning I received my 'apology' letter to inform me I am one of the unfortunates whose details have been 'lost'. It ends however that all efforts are being made to ensure this never happens again. How touching - not.

though I am certainly no Jade Goody fan, it seems to me she has grown up with a massive chip on her shoulder. Shilpa isa shrewd operator undoubtedly - she recognised this and played it to her advantage. I think Jade wanted 'control' in the house, but so did Shilpa in her simpering, unassumimg manner. Race has little to do with this, it wouldn't have mattered what colour/nationality Shilpa is. Jade struggled to deal with someone better looking/better educated etc than her, in the only way she knows unfortunately. Next for the chop?......get rid of Jermaine - he's painful!!

I moved into my new address at the end of Aug and let the '0870' crowd know I'd moved and was taking my licence with me. I pay by direct debit. Several letters later(the tone of which I object to thoroughly) threatening to prosecute if I was caught without a licence, I called again to advise. Sure enough, two TV men appeared on my doorstep a fortnight ago. I felt like a criminal, and they stood over me whilst I raked through files to find my licence. They then phoned to check with their headquaters on their mobile! Whilst I appreciate they are only doing their job, surely they have details somewhere of my direct debit payments, and I'd already advised them of my change of address! I was none too happy and told them so, and also complained about the tone of the letters I'd received. Had my husband been home at the time he'd have shown them the door (infact what he said is not printable here!!)

Anybody know when these reduced air fares are meant to begin? Some date in May?

Fantastic find in Palnackie, near Dalbeattie - The Glenisle Inn. Reminiscent of Edinburgh's Canny Man. Stuffed wi everything weird and wonderful. And if you a homesick Shetlander this is definately the place for you - the Fetlar restaurant has the Shetland map on the ceiling, all the tables are named after Shetland places and finish off your meal wi some Shetland fudge and coffee. Fab food and excellent service. Just go......

Proud to admit I'm a die-hard Jambo! Never a dull moment (on or off the pitch these days!) Due to marry my Hibee Honey soon, and suspect I'm about to be cast out the my Dad's will!
