  1. ^^ Personnally I get a bit of tissue, and squash them with it. Any other creepie crawly I chase out the house somehow, but these little critters get everywhere and they are nasty looking, i even found one crawling about on the inside of the toilet last night. They are everywhere just now, I have never seen so many in my house, yes I get some every year, but its nearly a cheesy horror movie script here.
  2. I pretty sure the tankers stopped in Orkney first, then travels on up to us, that would explain why they arent full when they get here.
  3. Excellent, i'll get a list ready also then.
  4. Anyone else here collecting them ? Is it worth starting a swap shop thread ? where we list what we need and what we have to swap. might save some of us a few quid, as i'ts getting more expensive the less stickers needed in me book. There certainly enough people in Shetland collecting them as co-op keeps running out of them.
  5. Plusnet are excellent, but beware of the download speed of p2p and streaming at peak times as its heavily throttled. All throttling and monthly bandwidth limits are lifted from midnight to 8am, meaning any downloading you do at this time does NOT count to your monthly bandwith usage. As mentioned slightly expensive, but the service is A+ , so you get what you pay for.
  6. Wheres everyone gone? I'm still sitting in the hall waiting for the raffle
  7. Bill Bailey - The only man in the world who could be described as bald with long hair.
  8. Ghostrider - I changed from Pipex to Plusnet about 6 months ago, the change over was seamless, plusnet do it all for you, no need to actually cancel your current isp, just put in the plusnet username and password when the day comes that your current connection stops working, although it took a week longer than they said it would. They are quick at problem solving, not that i've had many problems, but the few i did have were resolved efficiently. Connection is far more stable, and pings dont spike upto 300 at peak gaming hours, like it did with pipex. Top Class isp IMO.
  9. LOL Looks like a scene from 28 days later in Lerwick. Where are all the people.
  10. No idea -- but i sent hubby into lerwick to collect one from college and one from anderson. He made it into to town from weisdale no problem. But son has phoned saying the busses will be running at some point, but he wasnt sure when.
  11. Apparently they have just cancelled the busses home from Anderson
  12. As police advice not to travel, then my kids will not be travelling. What a bad descision by Education Dept. to open schools when police are advicing against travel.
  13. Wormadale corner single lane, lane heading up the hill has very large drifts on it, i wont be surprised if it becomes unpassable soon.
  14. Its on front page of shetland news. All schools Closed.
  15. Well we would have done the usual, and photos would have been up on originart by now but seen they have their website now, we thought, hey why bother.
  16. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8465785.stm No law??? No resident Police, but the scalloway police do make regular visits in his police in the community capacity.
  17. Full Article - Here We gave away 100 tonnes of Grit to Orkney already.
  18. No dont let them out of Lerwick, cause they and most others on out of town roads drive FAR TO CLOSE to the car infront. The Police should know better. Driving out of town requires you to actually leave some distance between you and the car infront.
  19. I have to disagree with you there Marvin, changing isp greatly increased our download speeds, and we now get pings of 50 - 70 even on German Servers. with PIPEX we were lucky to have pings of 150 at this time of night, but they were generally 200 + We changed from PIPEX to PLUSNET, best move we made. I'm also about 1.5 miles from Weisdale exchange, and at tim eof these tests there are three other pc's online in my house. http://www.pingtest.net/result/4602046.png http://www.speedtest.net/result/636479419.png
  20. I had me a Kawasaki KC100. Then a kawasaki ltd 250 which i attached one of them "sidewinders" to, to get around the max limit of 125 before passing my test, I swaped that for a RD250
  21. just put in some petrol at grantfield and nearly hit the floor 122.9 i put in fuel a few days ago at weisdale and it was 119.9
  22. And its Back ... just flew over weisdale .. awesome noise
  23. ^^ Only double so. As a female gamer, i want to slap her, it single minded idiots like her who give us girls a rep of being stuck up about gaming.
  24. Smoking Bans And Restrictions in Nazi Germany The Luftwaffe banned smoking in 1938. The German Post office introduced.it's own ban Smoking was barred in many workplaces, government offices, hospitals, and rest homes. The NSDAP (National sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) announced a ban on smoking in its offices in 1939 SS chief Heinrich Himmler announced a smoking ban for all uniformed police and SS officers while on duty in 1939 Hermann Goering's bans soldiers from smoking on the streets, on marches, and while taking rest periods. Sixty of Germany's largest cities banned smoking on street cars in 1941. Smoking was banned in air raid shelters. Some provided separate rooms for smokers Tobacco coupons were denied to any woman who was pregnant Blanket smoking bans were introduced in many cafes, bars and restaurants Women below the age of 25 were banned from smoking Restaurants and cafes were barred from selling cigarettes to all female customers In July 1943 it became illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to smoke in public. Smoking was banned on all German city trains and buses in 1944. This initiative coming from Hitler himself, who was worried about exposure of young female conductors to tobacco smoke. Acts of a dictator, or acts of someone looking out for the health of his nation ? I'd like to think that smoking would be banned in public places if we had dictators in charge of our country ...... hang on, smoking is banned here Nazi's were the first to coin the term "passive smoking" Many of the studies carried out during the Third Reich are the basis for the arguments put forward today by those seeking the imposition of repressive smoking bans. I stopped smoking 4.5 months ago, i've smoked from the age of 12, i smoked through 3 pregnancies, I have smoked ALL of my adult life, I wish my government had cared about me, as much as the nazis had cared about their women.
