[***MOD EDIT - Personal attack removed ***]
  2. Have you actually told your Dr's what your problem with them is? They are but human and may not recognise that their attitude/behaviour irks you. If you are open and honest with them then they most likely will reciprocate and offer you a positive alternative.
  3. If he has a photo of himself in Shetland from previous visits should do i.e. a snap of himself with the market cross in the background should be proof enough Sad f*c*ing country now isn't it?
  4. If you subscribe to BT Broadband and have your own home hub set up for BTFON access by other BT broadband subscribers then you have Free access to everyone elses homehub who have made the sound decision to do the same. So when I travel around Shetland or South I get free access to literally thousands of routers. Simple. quick edit - BT have just changed the name from BTFON/BT Openzone to BTWIFI (get the app on your phone/pad or whatever). I've never yet been disappointed with free access choice.

    School bus cut

Good point. Ex cooncilor Flo was taxied a whar. She could easily have walked the 500 yards or so to the end o' the S. Whiteness road and got da bus intae toon. But dats history. Hopefully the present incumbents will be more prudent with our tax money.
  6. Within the North Ness area there are 254 parking spaces not including disabled or the 73 empty ones around the North Ness Business Park buildings. Wander a bit further to the Viking carp Park, below the Fort and market street car parks and you can add another 138 spaces, again not including disabled. For the really energetic who can manage the 500 yards or so to the old swimming pool car park and you have another 155 spaces. Why on earth would the Council close off public car parks? That really does smack of a desperate clutching at straws to try to bolster your arguement. So does anybody know just how many coatpegs there will be in Mareel? M, You could also include the couple of hundred spaces at the Toll Clock Shopping Centre and Coop Supermarket. Easy walking distance to Mareel and mainly on the flat. This perceived parking issue is a thing of nothing IMO.
  7. Who's looking forward to the first same-sex divorce...... no church required.... only solicitors.

  11. Dales Voe will be a great stop gap for Shetland.... decommissioning of the oily stuff for the next 50-90 years or so .....forward thinkers should be buying shares (for their grandbairns) in the decommissioning base designed specifically for quite large wind turbines... we can call it Tomo'syerd
  12. Granted... but how does he pay his way? edit.. and given that many have been on the waiting list for a SDR ticket for years the cloon shouldn't be given any preferential treatment. Join the queue...
  13. ...pat da collar on heer a while syn syne. min dat's good but i fear shu might still be a bit filskit - stick dat right forepa ida collar far twartree weeks tae curtail da typin' frenzy. If shu dusna settle after dat den tedder weel away fae ony laptops until da Parkour season is oot .
  14. We were enjoying watching the kids Parkour one day when a bitch with no collar appeared and started whining insistently and p8ssing all over the wall they were going to use (trying to leave her mark I presume). It was definitely not a native species – Do you think there’s a tenuous link …. or is it unlinked?
  15. That is simply not true. Norsky flag flying from the Town Hall all day and the Union flag from LPA at the esplanade for a start. Quite apparent to all, unless one has decided a priori to be outraged. UHA is clearly not for everyone, but I do get the feeling that your problem with it stems from a fundamental misunderstanding about what it is actually all about. You regularly slag it for being fake, as if that is a credible objective value statement. Of course it is fake, its fakeness goes to its very core. If you wish to get a grip on why we love it, think about the age old concepts of "fool for a day" and the "lords of misrule," and above all "having a good time." It is certainly not about being serious. UHA is remarkable for its natural community organisation, not for being some kind of authentic historic recreation society. Some get the vibe, some don't, those who do relish it, those who don't miss out. That's life. It is certainly on the up currently, so I expect you are going to have to put up with much more in the coming years. Might be a good idea to try and stand in our shoes (furry boots?) and get a feel for it. I certainly managed to once convince myself that olives taste good, and now I can't imagine not loving them . EM - once more you have told these ignorant fe.ck..ers where to go - tally ho
  16. Dis wis Bill Bailly's "private wan" - sumeen wee a sense o' humour
  17. GR - you nailed it. At least a decent human being cares about the welfare of sheep in Shetland. Is there something wrong with that? How many sheep in Shetland are neglected by crofters? Too many to mention.. My heart went out to a female ewe a few years back. Left to die on the hillside by the crofter. We made her as comfortable as possible. Total neglect on their part. Another ewe, ill and weak. Birds had taken her eyes out. Aimlessly walking in circles till she dropped. Crofter didn't care when we confronted him. Went back to check on her. She was dead. Shetland Sheep have a hard time on Shetland... And it isn't due to the weather! Mattie, you don't really belong here do you?
  18. MJ - now that makes sense - thanks for clarifying (no pun intended)
  19. No we go up each morning to the well with pails! Am I doitin'? It's a thread about tap water quality and you go UP to the well each morning? WTF?
  20. Nope Bog Standard 2 - My comment above was neither judgemental nor harsh, just pragmatic, and I stand by it. I sincerely think you should explore an alternative avenue to seek finance.
  21. Yeah possibly, although the museum cafe has kept busy without M with people going there specifically for food, so I don't get why flames isn't? I reckon once M opens the hoi polloi will frequent
  22. Yes, and....?!?! Why should I give any more of a toss for your opinion than you obviously give for mine? You do youself no favours with your overbearing and rude attitude to any critical comment. I used to quite enjoy your contributuions but lately you and your pal unlinked have become quite 'unhinged' and are off the scale in terms of dominating 'some' threads. Quite disappointed with your attitude ..and speaking about fickle.............00:28
  23. Ewes and lambs do tend to wander at this time of year...and fences in Shetland are a bit "new fangled" and noone has actually told the sheep what their purpose is. Go northby and you'll find there aren't any fences.. why would you (or the sheep) need them. So if you're concerned that the two you mention might be endangered by drivers not being particularly adept at avoiding wandering livestock then get a pal and go and yock a had o' the yow and fling it oe'r the nearest fence. Fling the lamb efter it and bingo they'll be fine. Dinna be surprised if you spot them right back in the same place again a couple of days later though. Fickle beasts for sure. Like I said previously - fickle beasts
  24. Re - location - Once/(if) Mareel opens then Flames wil be "quids in". Hopefully they can hold out a bit longer.
