  1. Re black fish landings……..from the skippers of the boats to the forklift driver stacking the trucks full of blackfish to the counter assistant in a shop selling those blackfish EVERYONE made money out of that, including the taxman!
  2. 'It's what the customer wants' line.....surely no. I reckon thats a management from the top down to the minion managers. Did you see the one squirming on Hugh's fish fight the other night.......That line didn't work for him. Anyway, consent or not, it's going ahead no matter what!
  3. Out of interest how many units a week are you using in total after fitting the new system Rasmie? Also what size of house do you have. Cheers
  4. The tariffs for each different element are on the back of you're hydro bill! Don't quote me but the last time I looked it was roughly this: Off peak: 8p/unit Direct: 14p/unit General: 18p/unit
  5. My money's on shetlandpete heading too Unst and 'said' establishment just for a nose. I also think he won't be as vocal face to face as he is on the forum here, pedantic needle!
  6. I Have THTC, received the same letter as Ghostrider and promptly threw it in the bin. I can't think they're going to do away with you're tariff, they must have given you a reason and if not you should be entitled to one!
  7. Have you asked my children where they want to spend their school life? Would you like to? Have you asked my children where they want to spend their school life? Would you like to? I think Staney Dale gave quite a balanced viewpoint there. KairaWRX, have you given you're children enough 'positive' information for them to at least want to maybe give it a go in Lerwick or have you just decided for them? There majority of people my age, who I know that attended the hostels in town regard that years of their lives the best they have experienced. It 'broadened their horizons' is a sentance I hear the most when the closures debate is brought up. Who's to say it won't be the best thing thats happened to you're children or those around you, change is not always for the worst. This wasn't too many years ago so not a lot has changed around Shetland since then. Be glad to hear you're opinion on that Kaira. Cheers
  8. Been to Montys twice now in recent weeks. Bloody brilliant!!!! After tending to stay away from there because I often felt 'fantin' after usually paying in the high teens for a main course.........I just didn't think it was good value very pretty to look at mind you but just not enough of it. The last two trips have been fantastic though. Still paying in the high teens for a main but plenty on the plate.......a dream!
  9. Thanks Rasmie, sounds good to me!
  10. A friend of mine has a Vauxhall which is 3 year old and out of warranty. Its in need of a service so would it be best going to the local Vauxhall dealer or go elsewhere? I have no idea and she's not 100% sure as the car was purchased new from a dealer south. Thanks for you're time!
  11. Because the person who was nominated to pick the man of the match believed that, in his opinion, James was MOM!
  12. Nightmare stories about these outdoor units breaking down due to the harsh conditions in Shetland and then problems trying to get repairs done. Be careful and get plenty of advice.
  13. Just a guess, they're not that big especially if you take into consideration where they were initially situated!

  15. Whats 'the establishment'? Whoever they are seem to be able to put Malcolms ideas into practice. Out of interest, what are 'some' of you're ideas? I think they should have put the rides exactly where the market was last week, plenty of room there. Pity it's such a crap day for it not many people kicking about the pier today!
