1. ^ Ooooo, haven't listened to that one in a while! Dead Kennedys - Chemical Warfare is on the stereo just noo...
2. Exchange been ADSL2 enabled?
3. Hopefully this will help to make it a little clearer. I'll maybe post a comprehensive guide at some stage... http://www.crcshetland.co.uk/stuff/youtubelinky.jpg Does that help? As a side-note, we used to have a Youtube button to add the links but it played havoc with the formatting IIRC. It may reappear one day.
4. Please remember to use the Youtube tags when posting a video. It is really quite simple. You put at the start of the link and at the end of the link. This then embeds the video in the thread making things much easier for all concerned. Thanks.
5. I used to buy the odd bag of coal from the Toab shop. Aroundabout 5 pound a bag IIRC.
6. Unless I am misreading something here then you do not seem to be aware that Hannspree is a Taiwanese company... LG or Samsung is not a bad recommendation to make seeing as they are the two biggest manufacturers of LCD around. If you have a LCD telly or monitor then it is a good chance that the panel inside it is made by one of those two companies. In case you have not sussed this out yet, I am quite into my electronic equipment as well. JAS started this thread in the hope that somebody could point him to a reasonably priced screen for the purposes he required. As you seem to be unable to do this then please refrain from posting anymore to this thread.
7. While visiting someone at ARI I had the pleasure of playing with one of these. Pretty basic setup which runs on a back-end of MS Windows CE. Much the same as what you get in the bigger airlines. If you tinker with the buttons enough you can kill the Patientline front-end and have a tinker with Windows CE. When I had a look then they had Motherboard Monitor running in the background which I found quite strange as it is a relatively well known non-commercial piece of software and as such has no guarantees for stability. Development stopped in 2004 with a minor update in 2006. Either way it seemed to do the job specified. I just wouldn't try running any sites heavy on flash/java through it or it is likely to choke.
8. It will cost a lot more. A reasonable package including line rental and 10GB broadband can be had for about 20 pounds. Any calls you make will be additional to that. That is about as cheap as it is going to get I am afraid.
9. Pigs may fly. Been a lot of it out here this Winter (NZ). Good few came down with it in my office and a couple of people in the area have died from it. Still not the pandemic they claimed it was going to be though.
10. You should be aware though that purchasing a domain name purely for the purpose of selling it to gain money from a company or person that has rights to the name is frowned upon and it is highly unlikely that you would make any money out of it. Worth taking a quick read through this.
11. Indeed you are correct. I was having a light-hearted dig at a place that I have not frequented in many years. My Apologies.
12. Strong words. That would include yourself then?
13. I used to live just around the corner from Mossbank in Manchester. It had boarded up windows as well.
14. Last time I heard o' wan o dem I wis byokkin' in a taxi. Although I think it wis a "WalkMin". Yep definitely a CD WalkMin. Can I ask what the purpose of the speakers would be? Handy when you are doon by da banks, but if you are near a hoose den power isna an issue. Soonds lik da best plan wid be a decent set o' battery powered spikkers wie some rechargeables.

High risk because it costs them a fortune if they have to investigate a claim. In a large city then they will have somebody they can call on to check it out. In Shetland it costs them an arm and a leg to pursue it.
16. ***BUMP*** Use it. You know you want to.
17. Might be accused of trying to be a little smart here but please Malcolm take a look at the following posts:- http://www.shetlink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=146066&highlight=edit#146066 http://www.shetlink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=135011&highlight=edit#135011 http://www.shetlink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=134466&highlight=edit#134466 http://www.shetlink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=91967&highlight=edit#91967 http://www.shetlink.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=83240&highlight=edit#83240 This was originally incorporated back in August 2006 but had a few glitches so the Youtube button was removed. A User Guide should probably be created/added for a full list of the available tags to make things easier. As above throw a couple of tags around the vid and all should be well. If it doesn't work then don't worry, we will try to sort it. I am going to take this opportunity to remind people to write a brief explanation/summary of the video they have posted as well. Saves a lot of time for those of us that doesn't have much of it.
18. To take things along a slightly different line, here is a rather one-sided but sensible article:- The Nuclear Option Opinions?
19. Open Control Panel Click on Printers and Faxes Right click on your printer (Canon MP460) Click on Properties Then click on maintenance Click on ‘View Printer Status…..’ Click on Option Finally, click on enable status monitor. This will turn it off and should allow you to print. Failing that try a reset:- 1. Disconnect the power cable 2. Hold down power button 3. Reconnect the power cable 4. With the power button still down, press twice the “Cancel/Stop” red button 5. Release the power button 6. The printer is now in factory mode…(wait about 30 seconds until it says “idle”) 7. Press the down arrow (next to the “OK” button) until it says “Shipping Mode 1” 8. Press the “OK” Button 9. Now with it displaying “Without Cleaning” press the power button 10. A test page should print 11. Now open cover 12. Disconnect the power again 13. Take both cartridges out like normal 14. Close cover 15. Reconnect power cable 16. Press power button 17. Replace cartridges Good luck.
20. It might be an option to fix the problem with the existing printer. What model is it? Are the cartridges true originals or refills?
21. Ahem, sports forum perchance? Flag flying here in NZ but then again its been flying all year.
22. Play nicely people or the big ban button will need to go into overdrive.
23. I have witheld as long as I can...this topic is heading for the linguistics section...
24. Can't see a problem with the pic above considering the door is open. The dog is obviously outside through choice. Then again the inside is maybe even more messy.
25. Chrome is certainly a strong contender at the moment. The sandbox feature seems to work extremely well by disallowing anything access to the machine. So much so that I can see the major browsers following in a similar vein in the near future..
