has anyone had experience of cope catering for a buffet. how was the standard of food and service. thanks

most people that rent privately only do it for the short term, social housing is usually for life. My point is that if my rent has now increased £70 a month in just 2 years then what situation are local authority renters going to be in a few years down the line ? will be paying on par of the private renter thats for sure and I for one cannot afford that. would be cheaper getting a mortgage but unfortunately thats not an option.

well thats the letter come with this years new rent price . moved into our 3 bed hjaltland house 2 years ago and in that time the rent has increased from £330 to now this years £398 ! am sure my pay has certainly not increased £70 a month oh but the shopping bill has....... sad times

our electric shower just broke recently so we got a local self employed builder/plumber to fit a new shower off the district heating system, which would be more economical for us. he bought the shower that day as we were at work got extra piping that was needed and fitted shower for £275 ! I know he fitted a shower for friends who had no previous pipework and they were charged £400. is this a super duper walk in power shower built to fit 2 people that has been fitted for you if not this cowboy needs to be brought to peoples attention

Pinapple chunks or Kola cubes fae Bobs shop at the hillhead. Used to eat them oot of the paper bags while playing draughts at the flower park. Happy days.

went away for a night last year and found a great place to stay. Just google orkney bedsits and you will find it. Centrall location in kirwall, right behind lidls! The lady who owned it picked us up from the boat and took us there showed us around and that was 11 oclock at night. we got to keep the apartment till we left the next night for the boat. Just had to post the keys back through the letter box for the landlady. It was perfect and only 35 quid!

very interested to read some of your stories as I had a few weird experiences a couple of years ago but I never really told anyone as it all sounded so unbelievable. We used to stay in an old tenement flat in the town. One night I woke up being pulled to the floor at the bottom of the bed. My arms were pulled upwards is if something was trying to pull me out of the room. From my elbows up was absolutely freezing and there was a roaring rushing noise in my ears. Then I was suddenly pulled back up on the bed, my arms still to the roof and something was pulling me back and forth. I remember feeling I had to fight to get back and I managed to eventually open my eyes everything was like in black and white sort of like the negative of a photo. I looked over at my partner sleeping next to me and I was shouting at him to wake up because I remember feeling I was really struggling and whatever it was was not giving up without a fight. After what seemed like an eternity I seemed to jolt awake properly.But the whole time it was happening I remember feeling I was awake but I was stuck in a place I really shouldnt be in. I shook my parner awake and I was crying and asked why he hadnt woke up as I had been shouting for help. The whole thing really freaked me out for a while. That was the worst thing that happened while we lived there but not the only one. I used to regularily wake up or was I awake and find myself floating up to the roof or then back down to the side of the bed. That I didnt find scary. But what freaked me out is when we went up into the loft one time we found really old wallpaper and hooks and pullies and things so it had obviously been a bedroom up there at one point. I did try and research who had previously lived there as it had been poor house dwellings at the turn of the centuary but didnt have much luck. I was the only one to experience weird stuff when sleeping and after all this started I would not go to sleep unless the hall light was left on all night. We have since moved house over three years ago and I have never had any sleep experiences since and can quite happily get up at night here and wander downstairs for water or whatever without felling the slightest bit scared. So after reading your article I question what was happening to me was there something there was was it all in my head - or in my sleep?

I have fond memories of the Sunday night discos in the Norsemans Inn. Great way to round off the weekend, boogy-ing to the Communards but I am going back to the eighties noo!

I agree with you ewenutz. you have to see to believe. Once I was at an open meeting at the freefield centre , with the glasgow lady you mentionioned in earlier posts , she connected with someone who had deceased relative who was an angry man, she said. And a drinker. While she was talking to the relation a bottle of wine that was with the raffle prizes , in front of the whole audiance , shot forward and landed at the feet of the woman whom the physic was connected with. Even the physic was shocked when this happenend and I can tell you the audience was even more gluffed . There was no false pretences. That bottle shot forward by a force was beyond anyones control.

I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING WITH INTEREST THE DEBATE IN THE SHETLAND TIMES THAT SEEMS TO BE SPIRALLING AS A RESULT OF JIM TAITS PERSONAL GRUDGES. I FOR ONE WOULD LIKE TO SHOW MY SUPPORT FOR ALL THE HARD WORK AND DEDICATION THAT THE COACHES OF ALL JUNIOR SPORTS GIVE TO THE YOUNGSTERS OF SHETLAND. MY OWN SON HAS PLAYED FITBA SINCE THE AGE OF SEVEN IN AN ORGANIZED CLUB. LAST YEAR HE PLAYED FOR SHETLAND AT THE FANTASTIC ABERDEEN INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL FESTIVAL, AND HAS NOW STARED THIS YEARS TRAINING FOR THE UNDER 16s. NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN ACHEIVED WITHOUT THE SUPPORT NETWORK OF ALL COACHES INVOLVED. AS A RESULT OF HIS TEAM SPIRIT I FEEL HE HAS GROWN INTO A MORE MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUAL. WOULD MR TAIT PREFER A CHILD BROUGHT UP WITHOUT DICIPLINE , STANDARDS , AND THE RESPECT OF THE OLDER GENERATION. TO SAY THAT A CHILD SHOULD NOT BE COACHED IN SPORT UNTIL THE AGE OF 12 IS RIDICULOUS. SHOULD WE THEN KEEP OUR KIDS HOME FROM SCHOOL UNTIL THEN TOO IN CASE A TEACHER SHOUTS AT THEM? I THINK NOT.

I would be really interested in joining the monthly meetings too, have had previous experience of mediums insight.
