it seems that standard propane is indeed suitable for auto gas, however by the time you factor in the cost of a gas bottle in shetland and the effort to pump it out into the car and the dross you get in the bottom of the bottles causing reliability issues its not worth the hastle, even before paying the vat man. Its maybe suitable if you have a large gas tank for heating your house and have a take off from that, im sure the bulk gas cost would come down. perhaps the new gas plant at sullom will be a source of cheaper gas in the future?
