Due to our establishment only being able to process and recycle metals of all kinds then yes we would be able to provide metal only skips. however as you have pointed out there will be ones who ruin it for others by dumping general waste and we then would have to pay the S.I.C for the disposal of such materials. So it would maybe make more sense to obtain general waste skips with the grants that have come available. How they work or are obtained i am not 100% sure as only found out when the Yell community council was able to say they had obtained funding for there other skips. kind regards

hi Scorrie if you contact the office then they arrange for it to be picked up. However if your car is drivable and just need scrapped then drive in and you get £20.00 for it. I would just like to say that 60 North wrote to all the community councils offering free skips for any metal scrap also we pick up cars and dispose of them as per the Car Take Back Scheme. We have had up to now three communities get back to us. one in yell which we sent up 2 skips and are in the process of picking up the full ones and replacing with empty. These will get weighed in to our yard and the community council will receive payment for the metal received. There for putting money back into community projects. The other community council is the Lerwick one which we are dealing with at the moment. where best to put the skips and how many. However we also know that there will be fly tipping and this in turn will not help either of us cos then we have to pay the council to dispose of general waste. Finally Sandwick allotments was put into this scheme and it helped to get rid of the waste they had. I am disgusted with the justice system and feel that i have to say something. 5yrs not looking after pony's or horses is not enough in my book for what has happened. But to top it all 240hrs comunity service. this in my book is so so wrong. the other man was 10yrs and well had a health reason what if any did this person have nothing. nadda nowt yet could not deal with he pony's in his care. thanks

in my humble opinion it is rather silly to tell people where the cctv is going to be put as in the outline pic in the shetland times. As this will as earlier stated only send the trouble else where. As for being watched un willingly it is a problem but it is happening in a number of areas now and only showing spots that have been made aware to be trouble spots. so stay outta trouble and you wont be watched. In the document i did not see any cctv being placed at the fort??? this is suppose to be a gathering point for underage drinking is it not/??? any ideas???

there should be no reason for hurting them at all and locking in cupboards just would not be good either. talking and explanation should be enough and yes i understand when children are younger than 3 they dont understand NO (so we think) but that does not mean you have to hurt them just be patient. I am not lilly white by no means i have boundry lines like everyone and believe me 2 boys who are teenagers nearly do push boundries but i cant physically bring myself to smack as i feel that too much enfisis is put on child line. My 11 yr old was given a card at school like all the kids being told why they should use it. not posted on here cause felt all points were appropriate but now its getting stupid. thrashed before bed.... thrashed in the morning... well to be honest that is just not on. i as a single parent feel that people who cant as the coment above the last one said get down to there level and talk instead of being this big person towering above and being intimidating. also when i was younger the child always hearing the word NO thought as its bad made our parents mad it must be fun. push the boundries etc. but if you explain the reason you think they should not and maybe then say the word No they are less likely to do it cause it wont annoy you. Yes we were all young once and many learned from mistakes. but to learn from them you have to allow them within reason. smaking does not solve nothing it just makes a child angry. and an angry child is not a happy child. so think before you smack and ask yourself how many times you said to yourself i never want to bring my children up the way my mother brought me up.... They are old school and i am new. New school want to change the way children respect and appreciate through spending time with them. NO MORE SEEN BUT NOT HEARD. children need a voice that is heard. they are our future. REMEBER.

Personally when diana died so did the royals. they did nothing to help themselves during the time of mourning and well hav never picked themselves up in the polls since then. only my opinion. diana had a heart to share with everyone.
