if you are talking about the swan net gundry shed then it has nothing to do with salmon nets, they make and repair pelagic nets aswell as stock rope and various other trawler hardware, i wonder if this is what has been referred to numerous times as the "net washing facility"

Are sure it's not the gut factory, Shetland Catch or the various other fish processors in the area? I worked at the Marina Business Park for a couple of years and I was never aware of any smell around there. i was wondering where exactly this net washing plant is, i thought the only one was in scalloway

it looked like a very amateur production, i was expecting to see more about how the boat works, maybe show a bit about the engine room, the galley or even show it from a day in the life perspective.

if you are talking about the sullom voe power station, it already supplies about 40% of the grid and could power all of shetland with some upgrades and an upgrade to the local grid

i would say that if you get work and leave a good job and dont take the piss you will get more work than you can manage, on the other hand if you leave a bad job it will not take long to get a bad name and word travels fast in shetland

aaa22 it looked like a tight overtake but then you were following the orange car with a less than 2 second gap actually closer to 1 second than 2, as you have said you did not want to overtake you should have dropped back and left a bigger gap, if you had have done then the overtake by the golf wouldnt look so bad

if its on wheels it will be able to be picked up with a truck with a tail lift, your best bet would be to phone shetland transport and ask for a quotation

im sure you will enjoy your visit, one thing i would say is by no means take the views of the few that post on shetlink as an indication of shetland, shetlink seems to have quite a few "characters" that seem to want to argue/ post criticism over even the smallest of things

why do you consider a new berth for northlink to be a priority?? it would be a complete pain/cost to get from nigg bay to aberdeen city centre as at the moment it is a 5 minute walk to the city centre and the bus and train station

Seen more than a few of those "King's of the Road"... What used to irritate me more than a little were slow moving HGV's that would pull out of a junction ahead of me (when there wasn't really enough room) and then 'trundle' along up hill at a snail's pace. The junction at the foot of the Gremista hill is a bad place for that whichever direction you are travelling in.. All it takes is 10-20 seconds of patience on the drivers part... Made me wonder just how they got a licence.. yeh i agree all it takes is for you to be patient for 10-20 seconds being behind them then when you get to the three lanes you can happily overtake them, after all even if they are travelling at well below the limit up the hill you wont lose much time at all
