3 of the top results for the season must be: Thistle's 5-1 (i think) defeat of Whalsay; Unst's 3-2 victory over Delting and Yell's point against Scalloway. I only saw 1 of the games but they all sounded like absolute crackers

To say Unst players would possibly throw the game is ridiculous. At the start of the season players may have preferred whalsay to win. But i think the general feeling is to beat a side such as whalsay to deny them a title would be an incredible achievement and experience.

Scotland's attitude after going a man going down was very poor it must be said. However Norway are no mugs, can Scotland honestly say they have a single player up to the quality of any of Norway's starring quartet. Riise, Carew, Pedersen and Hangeland all consistently perform at a top level. Fletcher may argue but he hasn't got that spark in an attacking sense that Carew, Pedersen or Riise can give. Also, I can't see any advantage that would be gained if they sacked Burley. He must be given a cance atleast until the end of the campaign.

Under 21 parish cup was held today in Unst. The hosts won the trophy 2-1 against Sandwick in the final with goals from Connel Gresham and David Thomson. I think its agreed Unst deserved to win.

Sorry. Unst did not pull out of this game voluntarily. On my understanding they asked for the game to be postponed, this proposal was accepted in person. Then as there was no unst representative at the monthly meeting Celtic claimed the points. Although unst are at fault for not attending the meeting, I think most would agree this was a pretty sneaky play on Celtic's part.

The excluion of Paul Molloy is surprising to say the least in my opinion. Unless he is unavailable? Apologies if that is the case, but surely he would be more potent than other forwards in the squad such as Gerty or Hall.

Is that the same Tony Farqhuar that never turned up to referee an under18 game last week? The game had to be altered to a friendly, poor show really! Anybody heard of A league scores from tonight?

The reactions were over the top, but put yourself in that position, and I think anybody would find it hard to contain your emotion. Reactions this strong are very rare, and I think this shows how appalling the refereeing was. Not 1, not 2 but 3 absolute stonewallers in my opinion. So the feeling of bias was clearly present in Chelsea's eyes. The nature of defeat also added to the frustrations though, a team that played so well by restricting the best attacking side in the world to 1 shot on target the whole game. And this may have sparked te players the most. I felt sorry for Chelsea.. for atleast 2 or 3 seconds, until i realised how good the final will now be. Slightly off the subject, Andy Gray an Jamie redknapp's view that the referee's ineptitude was because he's from Norway... Pretty ridiculous? Or do they have different rules down in Scandanavia?

I've heard the same nufsta. The tournament wis due to be held in Unst. Yet the last 2 wknds where it has been organised, it has had to be cancelled shortly after because teams are not willing to put a team in and play. It now seems the competition won't go forward at all this year. This is appaling for all that refused to enter, even more so considering every team in the assosciation, barring Unst, voted "for" this change. It has ruined the competition for this year. Surely it will be changed back to the original format now? the format that had no problems what so ever. the u21's is a great tournament as it allows youngsters that rarely play senior football, to become a key part of the side. I too would like to hear some good excuses as to why any parish was unable to provide a side for a 7 a side tournament.

I think B.C Benvie's idea of havin a maximum of 25 players registered has potential, as teams like whalsay have 70 odd players signed, many of which aren't playing regularly. They would surely find other clubs, and make the weaker teams in Shetland stronger. I think Unst and Yell should join, and ness need to strengthen in some way, this would make the whole league a lot more competetive.

Yea the Unst v Ness game was very even. . chances at both ends. Jordan Thomson, Erik Thomson and Bruce Johnson got unst's goals.

Great point about mixing youth and experience bax. This is absolutely vital. In my opinion this is the main reason why Delting and Whalsay play so well again and again. The key being consistency. Many of the challenging sides are too young, and even though they can give both teams a great game on their day, they just can't do it regularly enough. and from u12, 14 and 16 i certainly am not being harsh Baxter! In fairness, the 18s do possess a few strong players.
