  1. I've just read a little about CuanTec securing funding to make food wrapping from shellfish waste. IMHO, to use shellfish waste to produce wrapping for food has got to be an awful lot better than plastic, polythene et al, that lasts for ever as polution. Could this not be produced here, by us, and used for local aquaculture, sheep and all the other foods? https://www.britishplastics.co.uk/News/cuantec%C2%A0expands-due-to-investment-from-sky-ocean-ventures-an/ https://www.thenational.scot/news/17877469.cuantec-secures-funding-food-wrap-made-shellfish-waste/
  2. Have any of you eaten in the Lerwick Hotel since it was done up? I've been going there regularly for bar lunches for years. Having everyone who is eating use the restaurant is ok, as you get the view of Breiwick. However the food has gone up in price by about £3 a dish and gone from something unpretenetious to a bit overpresented. Not really what I am looking for. Incidentally they haven't updated their website yet. http://www.shetlandhotels.com/Lerwick/restaurant.html
  3. Moving On Employment Project are looking for donations of recipes which include produce which can be grown in Shetland: tatties, herbs, veg, fruit, etc etc. We are about to begin a 5 week project with a group of clients, learning how to grow your own fruit and veg; make simple recipes with them; and collating a book of recipes, hints and tips. If you have anything you would like to donate please email: movingon@shetland.org - all donations will be very greatly received! Many thanks for your time The Moving On team
