Sal.north
As a learner I can drive unsupervised on the North Isles. This got me thinking....with my old insurer I was covered as a supervised learner but I'm guessing if I have an accident unsupervised then they won't pay out. How do North Isles learners get round this?
owdwife
All three of my children have had accidents while learner drivers and have had no problems with insurance. They did have comprehensive cover and the cars were all roadworthy - MOTed etc
Sal.north
Ok thank. Wonder if the lack of MOT will be a problem though. I have no way of getting the car to Lerwick and it will cost a lot more than it's worth as I only use it a few weeks a year. I'm going to have to be extra careful! Scorrie
You need to exempt your car from MOT to be fully legal on the Isles. Most folk don't appear to bother, mind. Regarding cover for being unsupervised - i'd talk to your insurance company - you wouldn't want a nasty surprise after a prang.
