daveh
Why is it, in mid-September, that I still can't book any Flybe flights beyond next March?I want to book some flights for next April, with some onward travel and accommodation arrangements, but don't want to make any other bookings until I have definitely booked the Flybe flights south. It is frustrating and actually a bit amateurish on Flybe's part, methinks. Any idea, from past experience, as to when the April flights will be bookable? Thanks
Girzie
Next month. They only let you book six months in advance. Probably in case of price rises.
JustMe
For once in my life I find myself defending Stinging Insect Airways. They have flights available to book right now on some of their own routes right up to mid July but have to wait for Loganair to release their summer 2013 flight schedule before they can take bookings for the Highlands and Islands routes. daveh
I want to book Sumburgh---Glasgow---Southampton and then return.I can't book any of the 4 necessary flights yet.
sludgegulper
I want to book Sumburgh---Glasgow---Southampton and then return.I can't book any of the 4 necessary flights yet. The section between Sumburgh to Glasgow is operated by Loganair on behalf of Flybe. Their new summer timetable for 2013 has not been published yet.The section from Glasgow to Southampton is run solely by Flybe.Until Loganair publish their summer 2013 timetable you won't be able to book a through flight. daveh
^^ I wasn't going to book through flights as, on the way down, we usually stay at a hotel in Glasgow (Holiday Inn Express by the airport) the night before just in case there are problems getting out of Sumburgh. I was intending to book the Glasgow/Southampton trip as a return flight booking, at the same time, but can't book that either yet as it also is only bookable up till the end of March. It is difficult planning trips and accommodation, car hire etc when you can't book much in advance like this. Surely Flybe have agreed their April 2013 flight slots with the airports by now. AmorCidy112
you can book the ticket next month, according to the rule, you can book flight before six month.
daveh
^^There is a "rule" about booking in advance?Really?
daveh
OK - this hasn't moved forward even now. It is October 7th and I still can't book a flight out of Sumburgh for next April.
sludgegulper
Have you asked them why?
daveh
Yes - on both Twitter and Facebook but I only get the comment that it will be soon. I have now been able to book return April Flybe flights between Glasgow and Southampton but still not out of Sumburgh. I have looked and it is the same between Glasgow and Stornoway as well so I am not sure what is going on.I haven't phoned Flybe as, from past experiences, I can be hanging on for, at the very least, 20 minutes before getting through to someone. JustMe
I can understand you not wanting to phone Flybe so you could try the Loganair Head Office Tel: 0141 848 7594. Do share if you get an answer to your question.
daveh
Thankyou for the number. If the flights aren't available in the morning, I'll phone Loganair and ask them. We don't have an alternative airline here so it is a bit shoddy that you can book to fly with Flybe elsewhere within the UK but not from here. Rasmie
The Loganair ADS people are on 0844 800 2855. This is usually manned by someone in Islay in normal office hours, i.e. a knowledgeable person living on an island to boot.
daveh
^^It isn't just the ability to get ADS discount or being able to use my Flybe reward4all points. The flights just aren't available, full stop, even if I was a full-fare paying passenger. Thanks for the number, though.
