RFR I'm sorry but your just so ignorant if these fishermen keep fishing there will be no fish left anyway, what we need is more campaining to stop this mindless industry and save what we can...

I can promise you Toby that as someone who has been involved in and surrounded by the fishing industry all their life ,the only person who is ignorant of the truth is you! Go ahead and believe the attention seekers if you like but don't think folk in Shetland are ignorant , that's a fools path .

TBH, if H F-W has put a rocket up peoples' backsides, then it's a good thing - regardless of whether you 'believe' the scientists or the fishermen.

There's now a 'Real Fish Fight' campaign been launched by some NE fishermen, so hopefully it will raise the profile of the problems in the fishing industry even further in the eyes of the public.

Believe or don't believe H F-W, it's not really important. What is important is that it's taken a mainstream TV 'personality' to get this firmly into the public domain...something the fishing industry and that piscine version of the Daily Mail - 'Fishing News' - have consistently failed to do for years.....

And maybe the fishing industry needs to look at how they are perceived by the public if they want public support?

^^ V interesting Mr Gorgo - thanks for sharing!

Der's a peerie cheeky munky in this thread, but to be fair they've engendered by pure accident - certainly wasn't by design - a very interesting topic, no?

Media, policy, 'law', science, truth, fact, and the rest .... inclusive of hysteria, political shenanigans, daily mail readers, the worst type of enviromenta-terrorists, actual fekturds, and general malaise ... and it could go on ...
