"We are looking for 2,000 adult volunteers from Shetland.

The Viking Health Study is a research project which is investigating risk factors for diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke and glaucoma.

Adult Shetlanders with at least two grandparents from Shetland are being invited to take part in the whole study. Participants will be asked to fill in a questionnaire and make two visits to a research clinic in Lerwick.

Adults with fewer than two grandparents from Shetland are invited to contribute to a health survey by filling in the questionnaire.

If you are interested in taking part and would like more information, please contact:

This project is funded by the Medical Research Council

The University of Edinburgh is a charitable body, registered in Scotland, with registration number SCOO5336"

{I had a call last week to book my clinic appointments and they said they were still looking for more volunteers so I offered to post their notice here.

The measurements / examination / tests etc will be a good opportunity for a complete health MOT}
